Not sure it will ever happen, honestly. A player would have to have a kid by the age of 21 or 22, be good enough to play until they're 40, AND their son would have to be good enough to play at 18.

Best chance among currently active players is probably Pat Maroon. His son is eligible for the 2026 NHL draft and was selected by the USHL Green Bay Gamblers.
