I was coming here to post that Denver needs Schroder and DFS big time if they want to compete with OKC/Minny in the playoffs this year.

Gordon being hurt means Watson will get more minutes to either prove he can't be traded, or hopefully show enough potential that some team with good vets will bite. As much as I want Denver to keep him, he may be the price it takes to shore up the depth.

I actually think the Hawks will be after Schroder hard, they don't have a backup PG so Jalen/Trae are having to play a ton of minutes. The Hawks also need to move Capela/Zeller. I could see something like Zeller/Capela plus a pick for Schroder/DFS. That gives the Hawks some depth at forward, and a backup PG.

My only takeaway thus far is that OKC is even better than I thought they'd be and I did predict them winning it all.

I don't think really anyone can touch OKC this year. Not only are they deeper, but they have the resources to do literally anything they want. If they want Giannis right now they could get him.

Denver desperately needs a scoring punch off the bench. I love the idea of DFS being an AG-lite too for cheap.

I'm just not sure how much Denver really has to give but those guys fit for sure

Cam Thomas is the prefect guy for the Nets right now.

He's gonna score 30, might go for 40 or 50 at some point and bring excitement. At the same time, he's not gonna help them win a lot of games. Perfect for a tanking team.

Yeah they'll keep Cam to keep some butts in the seats and shop everyone else. Claxton and Cam J are young enough to bring back some value/picks, while the more contender-ish teams with less to give will be fighting over DS/DFS

It's crazy to me that there are teams as deep as OKC, Houston and Boston and some "contenders" like Denver and LA can't even get two good bench players.

Well Houston had a boatload of picks and was really bad for a long time. They had 8 1st round picks in the last 4 years. So that's why they have a lot of depth. They also aren't way into the cap so can spend on vets.

I'm pretty confident we will never see a team like OKC again. They've hit on every single pick and every single trade in the last 5 years and STILL have 15 1st round picks in the next 5 years. It's absolutely insane how much talent and how many assets they have right now and they're still under the 1st apron. It's unbelievable.

The problem with Denver is that they have no assets, no cap flexibility, and have not drafted a single contributing player since 2018 depending on how you feel about Braun.

LA is similar. They got lucky with Reaves but outside of that haven't drafted anyone of note since 2017. Not to mention they're almost in the 2nd apron too.

There's no hope for Denver and the Lakers. If I'm Denver, next season I am trading MPJ and Murray and hoping Jokic sticks around through a mini-rebuild. The problem with that is Murray and MPJ have 2 of the worst contracts in the NBA. It's going to be very difficult to move either guy

oh and don't forget the actual worst contract in the NBA, maybe ever with Zeke Nnaji. You're paying that guy for 4 more years and you gave him a player option and he's unplayable.

He's making 1/5th of what Simmons is making, so it can't be the worst in the league, it's definitely a bad one though.

I mean, the fact that they haven't drafter any rotation players in 5-6 years is the main reason. People think it's about hitting every pick but just getting one good late first rounder every couple of years makes a big difference.

Denver's FO seems very overrated to me, they really got lucky with Jokic being as great as he is. The MPJ and Nnaji deals are awful and hard to move, Murray should be easier.

I knew I'd trigger you.

It was too easy...

Don't worry, it'll balance out as the 3rd seed from the East gets to continue playing trash teams 4 times

Boston and Cleveland are great tho

Sochan gonna miss 20-25 games.

If Spurs are sellers at deadline, could mean contenders that miss out on Schroder/DFS might be able to get CP3/Barnes from Spurs.

Hawks have stretches where the starters look real good... Trae plus 3 lengthy athletic boys in DD, Rizzler, and JJ works.
