Should they be concerned? Especially in the near-term? I know you have talked about it, but people vent about their jobs all the time.

It's a right of passage now. I've heard of parents WANTING their kid to get it in the hopes of their arm coming back stronger. They put so much pressure on these kids to become stars, when baseball is very hard to start with. I played it for years, turned down offers to play it at the college level because I didn't enjoy the game, I can't imagine playing baseball year round. It's boring to start with unless you pitch, then it's still boring because you get days off where you do nothing but DH (at least at the high school level).

Yes they should. I've been thinking about it more and more since last week. The principal at the middle school is begging me to go back into teaching. She said she will make a spot for me. I don't know if I want to do that, but I don't think I want to do this anymore either.

I'm taking November 19-after Thanksgiving off, my plan is to use that time to figure some stuff out. My director and deputy director don't know my supervisor approved me to be off when basketball evaluations are going on, so that means somebody else will have to do them.

I'm not, but if I were to ever go back into teaching, it would be at the high school or Community College level (math background). Middle school kids are crazy with all of those hormones running through them. I wouldn't have the patience to deal with it.

If you were to leave, would you lose most of your vacation and/or personal days?

I believe they would have to pay me out for any PTO I have, I think I would lose sick leave.

It's something I have to figure out. Its to the point now where I really only talk to my supervisor and my friend that's the admin assistant. I don't say much to anybody else in the office, and only when they speak to me first.

When I grew up, you had spring/summer little leagues in town and that was it. No fall league. No travel baseball. In the fall, you played soccer or football.

We received an e-mail from our Son's school this evening. The School Board decided to extend the Thanksgiving break into Monday and Tuesday so the kids now have off the entire week of Thanksgiving.

Had a parent come up at the last game tonight and say she’s going to fight a parent and their sons are going to fight at their next game. My response was go ahead, I’ll have the police take all 4 of you to jail, we’ll make sure a lot of charges get filed, and then we’ll trespass all of you from all our events for 1 year

WTF is wrong with people? At least by announcing it ahead of time like that, it is likely not happening. I figure something like that would happen spur of the moment, not treating it like it is middle school.

Oh, she had her son chase the other woman’s kid in the parking lot. He got into a car with somebody before her son could do anything.

I don’t know where these people come from. And it seems like the dumbest people are finding each other and reproducing in record numbers.

I asked my supervisor if we can just ban the woman from coming to any events or on any city property for a year and he’s going to check. Stuff like this is why I’m looking to move out of this crap city. Use to be this was a great place to live until city elected officials made a push to make some changes. The only changes they made was people with money left and the people that moved into the new rental properties brought all their issues.

Well, today is the big day. A lot has been said over the past weeks and months, but today we find out for sure. By the end of the night, we’ll all know. Some will be happy, some will be sad, some will have joy, some will have anger. Some will ask how this is possible. But at the end, we will all move on.

The first CFP Poll comes out tonight. That race for the top 12 will be interesting.
