UD Interview teased some future sets: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAOHKUQPt2s. Sounds like there will be some Marvel Studios Series 1 and Series 2 sets where one series will cover movies and other Disney+ shows. Sets are supposed to be more character focused, I imagine like Allure/Black Diamond, and possibly cover Disney+ specials like Werewolf by Night

Oh yeah, there are a couple more sets to add. No details beyond what I have in my notes:

2023 Marvel Allegiance: Secret Wars (a completed AP sketch was sold)
202? Fleer Ultra Matriarchs

The latter was an artist commissioning APs in one of the bigger Marvel FB groups. I asked what the set was (I think only "Fleer Ultra" was visible in the pic) and he said "Oh, the matriarchs set". So I don't know if lower-case matriarchs means the Women of Marvel set or if this is a separate upper-case Matriarchs set.

Didn't know where else to post this, but this is an upcoming SDCC exclusive, Death's Head on the homage packaging.

Upper Deck is losing the Marvel license. Topps has announced its first Marvel set, Topps Finest X-Men '97, with a release date of Q1 2025. There are six verified UD sets coming later this year. That's 20 total Marvel sets in 2024, up from 18 in 2023.

There are potentially other sets unannounced that may or may not exist, based on blank sketch cards or completed sketches, including a Women of Marvel set and Marvel Allegiance: Secret Wars. Thanks to glorbgorb for sharing info on these.

Thanks for keeping this updated with what we know, it's a big help!

Based on blanks I have seen, there is also:
2023 Marvel Avengers
? Fleer Ultra Matriarchs
2022 Marvel Spider-Man
2024 Marvel Renditions Spider-Man

The Matriarchs is the only set for which I have not actually seen a blank, but an artist mentioned he had blanks on Facebook.

I was also told that "some sets" (I believe it was in the context of Women of Marvel) had been cancelled, but that person said he would leave it to artists to confirm.

I would guess it is safe to say none of the above are coming out, unless we see some 11th hour craziness from UD.

Marvel Allegiance: Secret Wars has been officially announced. I've added it to the list of upcoming releases. Unless Upper Deck has some surprises left to reveal, the seven sets listed below may be the last Marvel sets from Upper Deck.

Dates are drawn from the GTS calendar plus Blowout and its competitors. The big question is when Ant-Man and The Wasp Quantumania will come out. Blowout now says December 27. Other sources say October 30 which is when Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 supposedly releases.

I would be very surprised if one or two sets don't end up releasing in November. Right now that month has no scheduled Marvel sets.

I appreciate you keeping this up to date. You're a couple:
Topps UK Chrome
Topps UK Chrome Sapphire

(I have learned that these have the same SKU, but are seen as separate sets--no idea why Topps did it that way!).

Also, just to add to the list of unannounced sets, an artist on Facebook had blank APs for a set called Marvel Metal Universe Rogues Gallery (he was an artist on that and was commissioning them). It was the first time I had ever heard of that set, and I'm pretty up on all the unreleased stuff for the most part.

I also appreciate your listing these. Looks like your 2024 list is missing the recently released 2nd ePack exclusive Throwbacks set.

Looks like a marvel sale on epack…50% off beginnings, 50% off No Way Home, 25% off Annual.

I’m broke after MM though.

I've updated the list with the two Topps UK Marvel Chrome products I forgot existed and the recent e-Pack exclusive Fleer Throwbacks '59-63 Marvel Edition set. We're down to five Upper Deck Marvel sets.

There are still conflicting release dates for Ant-Man and The Wasp Quantumania is still come out. GTS Distribution says Q4 2024 TBD. A Blowout competitor says October 30. Blowout says December 27.

Noone is talking about the new Topps (UK) Marvel release....which will be indicative of when Fanatics take over.

Marvel Chrome Sapphire....

What a horrendous release, especially at that price point!

1) rehash of non original art (the same as Topps Chrome Marvel which came out a couple months ago), but with X-fractorish finish.

2) 320 quid ($420) from Topps, for a box of 32 cards (27-28 bases and 4 -5 numbered)

Boring, Dry, and all the people who posted videos busting these are influencers and their first reactions are "this box was 320 on release and is now selling on Ebay for 450!" and by the end its always "that wasnt the greatest box in the world"....well DUH!

This will be the future. High box price, multiple release with same rehashed, super high parallel count (its coming). Main draw will be the lottery hits (which will either have bounties put on them or shilled to Everest to support box prices)
Boxes will be scalper to scalpers mostly with a few uninformed buyers gettting their faces ripped off (far more than now) on gambles
Singles will be HIGH but not indicative of value but more that not many will be busted and also the ones that gets bent over wont be willing to straight away get 10-20 cents on the dollar in liquidating. Also no e-pack

There may be a couple of releases that are hits but as soon as release the boxes will be scalped to a level where its not even close to worth getting

Good luck to those that actually choose to collect those

I have no interest in the new Topps marvel sets. Might be the most generic sets I’ve ever seen and the prices are sky high as well.

The entire thing is a game, largely played by sports people, of flipping boxes or gambling on breaks. There aren’t many people actually collecting the stuff…like actual marvel card collectors. Anytime someone pulls a marvel chrome card on Reddit or wherever it’s immediately “how much is it worth?”.

I’ll be back-collecting UD era marvel sets for the most part or trying out new sets like DC. At least my wallet gets a break in the meantime.

It's been commented by several already in other threads, myself included. As a character collector who has one in the UK-only sets, I hope the UK releases will be a blip on the expensive curve. Once Topps cards are readily available in all geos (specifically the US) they won't be as high. Plus we Marvel collectors always blame sports people for coming over and peeing in our pool. Maybe that'll happen for a few sets, but maybe they'll move on.

But I'm leaning toward Dyna's thinking in a way. I came into Marvel around 2007. We've see phases where it was predominantly Rittenhouse (with some overlap with UD), then UD only, and shortly only Topps*. I may eventually turn into one of those people who collects my character pre-Topps or something.

We'll see.

* = Poor Panini always gets left out...

I was reviewing BobCollects lists... are these all the sets that have epack odds in the released checklist, but have yet to release on UD epack?

2024 Releases
2023 Releases

Definitely some cards in those MCU sets I was hoping to buy off COMC.

Of course those checklists were released when the license was not in question. Who's tobsay any of those will be on ePack. However, of those, I would assume these have to be at the top of UD's list if they are going for sets that would sell quickly:

Thor (for the Portman autos)
Avengers Metal
Premier

Well an artist on FB has confirmed that he has been hired by Topps/Fanatics to do Marvel sketch cards so I guess that's still something going forward.

A good sign for Topps Marvel sets.

If artists are doing both Marvel and DC (and Star Wars), several sets a year, that must be a big workload for these sketch artists. DC sets existed previously but they’re about to be ramped up to all heck with UD.

I keep reading that the number of sketches for Topps will be low (based on SW, which I don't really follow). Maybe they will be tough pulls, so it may balance out. Unless Topps does a Premier-style set perhaps they will retain values.

Also, in keeping with the thread subject, cards from Matriarchs were shown off in one of the bigger FB groups. I don't think I have seen an official announcement yet, but it may actually come out. They better move quickly... tick tick tick.

Matriarchs is on the GTS Calendar for December 11.

UD's going to squeeze out every set they can, can't blame them really. It's mind boggling to think about what they probably have invested that they won't be able to sell.

Thanks for confirming that. Makes me wonder how configurations will change. For a set coming out that late, will it be all physical only? I have not seen anyone state with certainty that they will or will not be able to sell on ePack after the new year comes. Isn't ePack basically another distribution channel that happens to be owned by UD? It's like telling store owners or sellers like yourself that you cannot sell UD Marvel cards anymore, which doesn't make sense to me.

Also, can you confirm what sets have been officially canceled? I mentioned a list on FB and a reliable collector hinted he knew which had been canceled. But then deferred to artists to state which sets, but no one ever did.
