Pure gamble - even if the odds were that you get $8k eBay value in your box you still have-

Breaker getting $2k markup. So your $500 is down to $400 evenly split amongst the participants

eBay getting … $800-1200 in fees?
Another $100+ for insured shipping
Looks like payout is either PayPal I’m assuming goods/services so another 2-3% of the net (or you could take break credit)

You’ll need close to $12k proceeds to break even here…

This is straight gambling, how far down will this "hobby" go before we hit rock bottom?

And I am honestly shocked by how many people on this forum were trying to land a box for themselves.

The Breakers doing this promote themselves as family friendly and of the highest morals...we have hit rock bottom. They even posted in the sports card nonsense forum on FB saying this product has the highest floor of any product created.

Probably not wrong on the floor though. The absolute worst box of this probably yields what, $6K? So a 25-30% loss. Can any other product say that? You can lose 99% on other products.

This is what ultimately convinced me to buy a few boxes. What’s Flawless run these days? $10k-$15k per box? And what’s the floor? $2k?

This was more within my appetite for high end ripping given it has a 50-60% floor instead of 10-20% floor

Can’t have people speaking negatively about a #@#@#@#@ product you’re trying to sell.

I got 1 box. I am wondering if the EQL cycles through people who order less boxes first before moving up a tier to people ordering more than 1.

or just tired of the harping from a bunch of folks who should probably keep their tired judgments to themselves cuz it makes them seem like a bunch of sore losers. i mean, who are you to tell any of us what to buy? further, who are you to tell someone like me what is happening to a hobby i've been involved in since the late 70s? do you think you are special cuz you are ripping on expensive product? people like you were doing the same thing to tiffany in the 80s and now its the only thing that is of value from that era.

go buy this product then complain.

anyone get more than 1 box from eql? i lost out on the last two oppos and know they prioritize those who haven't won in the past so i am attributing my good fortune today to my previous misses...

Sore loser. Right. Your livelihood is in cards. Mine isn’t. I can give an objective opinion on what Fanatics is doing to the hobby. You can’t. You need Fanatics now. And they need people like you.

I decided at the last minute to not try for one. I hit a Speciman Tank parallel in the Backyard break and figured that was good enough. I do think the floor on this product currently is really good. I did not see too many boxes in the Backyard break that I would have been unhappy with. It did seem though that if you were hitting multiple parallels in the non-base spots you were in for a bigger hit(s) in the 3 main spots.

What are the chances that the 8 cards they pull will net proceed $10,000 for them all to get their money back? hmmm....
Do you get to keep your card at least if you want to?

You don’t get a card or serial. You literally are buying 5% of the box and they are selling the cards. The downside per spot is probably only $250-300. Upside is obviously massive, but I would expect a normal box and people will lose $100-150 after fees.

If you buy three spots you get a $5 discount. Lmao.

Uh-hunh. Are all of the almost 40k times you've issued your "subjective opinion" in these forums as ill informed as your past comments? You don't know anything about me. I have a day job. This is my hobby. I love it. I don't need it. I don't need Fanatics. I come here to learn and hear from like minded people. You seem like you can't shut up on these forums long enough to hear from someone that you might want to check yourself cuz you come across a as a real butt-sore loser about these cards, man. It's like you are picking on the pretty girl because you can't have her. Not a good look. And whining about her won't help...

I believe some products from Leaf also have 70% floor, but their ceilings are pretty low

Anybody planning on grading these? I've seen a few on eBay with soft corners but overall looks pretty gradeable?

That seems like the potential downside out of the gate but I could see singles prices on this going in a similar direction Wemby autos in chrome or stroud autos from composite. It’s going to be a ton hitting the market at once.

Definitely some cool cards mixed in but way more basic jersey autos than i’d have expected at the price point. ~80 rpa on ebay already and 9 or so that aren’t 1 color jerseys.

Outside the rpa everything is underwhelming. No idea who’s actually going to be collecting all these base and parallels considering the lack of license and overall design.

2 autos minimum per box, ~3,000 boxes. Minimum 6,000 autos.

Phew.....

Anybody have an idea how that compares to a full year of Panini? Like how many autos did Luka roughly have last season in all Panini products combined?

Obviously, Luka had way more rookie autos but they were licensed autos. It's more the fact that the Wemby autographs are all unlicensed. Most unlicensed cards have sold for a fraction of licensed cards. A few noteworthy investors have tried to tell everyone else in the hobby differently since 2023-24 Topps Chrome basketball came out. If Luka had an unlicensed Topps Chrome rookie superfractor auto 1/1 it would sell for pennies on the dollar of what the Wembanyama is supposedly worth.

I think most players sign the most autos their rookie year and i’ve seen the 20k auto number thrown around a bit.

Wemby likely has 15k or so autos at this stage with the majority coming from topps chrome and now mercury. I think over 10,000 wemby autos from those two products alone.
