Question Ways to clean a significant number of toploaders?

Sitting here cleaning a box of dusty or dirty toploaders one-by-one and there just has to be a better method.

I was thinking the dishwasher might work but I'm worried about melting plastics.

Anyone have some tips?

Agreed. Just throw them away. Top Loaders can be had for pretty cheap when bought in bulk.

Not worth your time. Just buy a case of new ones!

Use them as extra protection when shipping cards. I flip them upside down and tape them to the card sandwich. It gives a lot of extra protection to the edges of the card sandwich.

Meguiar's PlastX will get 'em clean. This is the stuff many were using during the pandemic when top loaders were hard to come by.

It is a tiresome process, though.

I'm just here to curse out the people who put scotch tape on top loaders instead of painters tape.

Scotch tape with tabs is superior to painters tape. Painters tape can still leave residue!

you don't have to do it all at once.

I use PlastX on minor scratches on my slabs and one-touches before I put them in a fitted sleeve. It won’t work on real deep scratches, but it does wonders on minor scratches. Just keep polishing them over and over again until the minor scratches go away.

You can find PlastX at Walmart in the auto section right beside the car wax shelf.

For tape residue, I use Goo-Gone. I've rescued many almost new top loaders from scotch tape.

Without much effort, you can find a case (1000) for $67 shipped. I’m sure they are cheaper with a little digging.

I reuse toploaders if they are in good condition too, but cleaning them to save 6 cents a piece seems silly.
