Really beginning to wonder just how many of these guys that already know they've got a roster spot, even care about preseason/off season conditioning and practice. It takes nearly all of Sept., now, for them to begin playing well again. Judging by the sheer number of injuries, alone, it would appear to be 'not many'.

I would think that when you go to the playoffs every year and the Super Bowl 4 out of the last 6 years it would be hard to "get up" for every regular season game. I do think the Chiefs are playing hard but they have pretty much played down to their competition for the last 3 seasons and then when the playoffs hit you see a completely different team. I think if they somehow manage to get to 6-0 or 7-0 (unlikely) the buzz will be huge and might make them care lol

I agree, guys just don't take the offseason and training camp serious, you can see it in the amount of injuries already this year to big name players. Especially for guys that already secured the bag.

It's still early, but the offense looks stagnant. They need to get their act together. Plenty of time to do it.
*last 2 games.

I think it's funny how people's memories of the Baltimore games have already changed

-The Chiefs offense scored 27 pts, the most the Ravens have given up in 3 games.
-Mahomes went 20/28 for 291 yards. That's over 10 yards per attempt
-And of course (this doesn't relate to you), the Likely out of bounds call was absolutely the right call upon review. Yet some folks are saying the refs helped the Chiefs there????

And yet overall, the Chiefs defense ranks:
-17th in Points allowed
-Tied for 13th-24th with 3 turnovers

This is very average, vs the offense which is 7th in points scored and pretty average in a lot of other categories.

Overall both sides of the ball has been just a little bit above average, but consistent in that regard, if anything, I'd call them opportunistic, meaning they've made big plays when it mattered (Likely out of bounds, Butker GW kick, Bolton 4th down stop)

3-0 and still on track for 3 in a row. AFC is weak

Ok, I'll give you the Ravens game. Or are we over estimating the Ravens defense, which hasn't done anything this year?

they gave up 27 to the Chiefs, 23 to the Raiders, and 25 to the Cowboys. Not exactly stellar defense. The Ravens are 24th in the league in points allowed. (26 per game.)

Just couldn’t get them vs Brady. Really needed them then.

Once you figure out how to overcome the urge to get lost in the moment and become short sighted, the picture becomes much more clear.

But that seems to be a rare ability to find in people these days.

It's not about getting lost in the moment, it's about being a realist.

People are happy because of the won/loss record, but this Chiefs team looks stagnant. They've won 3 games by 13 points combined.

I'm not saying the sky is falling, they have plenty of time to clean things up.

The first half to the NBA season is terrible with teams playing average basketball just trying not to lose. After the All-Star break is when teams start playing real basketball and start playing for seeding.

To me it seems like the Chiefs are in the NBA mode right now. They know they are going to be there for the playoffs so no need to go lights out at the moment. Also seems like this is the plan for Worthy as well. In the first game they wanted to test out their new Ferrari and man did it look nice! Then they put it back in the garage and are waiting for that next Sunny day to bring it back out.

Going to be some growing pains over the first half of the season as we ramp up new rookies/starters at RB (Steele/Perine), WRs (JuJu, Worthy) and TE (Wiley). Teams are taking away the Kelce safety blanket and making us move the ball with our other pieces. If we lose Rice, we are in trouble...The injuries to Hollywood and Pacheco complicate things, as well as the weak play at left tackle between Kingsley and Wanya. Mahomes does not time in the pocket with his blindside LT letting DEs in at will. Defense doing enough to keep us in the game, but not as strong as last year. McDuffie not looking like the lockdown corner that Sneed was. Lot of new pieces and hoping they start to gel over back half of season. Will be great to get Omenihu back (hopefully in November) to create more disruption at the line of scrimmage.

Crazy as it may sound, we are the 2nd highest scoring offense in the AFC behind the Bills. NFC is actually bringing more offensive fire power this year...Chiefs are always going to get every teams' best. If we can just handle our business in division, we should be just fine. playing out with some similarity to last year. Given the money involved here, we all assume these guys are all lazer focused at all times. However, human nature (and their long time success), may make motivation a bit tougher to come by in September. Hopefully, the negative media attention lights a fire under their butts and gives Mahomes the motivation he needs to get the ship moving in the right direction.

You're not missing much, it's all pro-Trump/anti-Democrat stuff now, which is lame no matter your political affiliation. Maybe 5% hobby posts now.

It's true! I'm a prisoner of the moment sometimes. Would just love a 4TD 0INT performance sometime soon. But I'd rather have another trophy.

I agree with everything, except Worthy. I think if they could get him the ball more they would. Although now that I think about it, they did take their time with Rashee last year and he really came on the last half of the year. It's a bummer when you see other RC WR like Malik Nabers and Marvin Harrison Jr. balling out but nothing from Worthy aside from the blown coverage TD (in terms of receiving). But I could see them taking it slow with him like you said.

Great thoughts. It is crazy to think they are the second highest scoring team in the AFC. That's wild.

It's tough sometimes, and I've seen him miss some throw the last 2 weeks that he almost always makes, but then at the same time I think we take for granted the very high level throws that he does make.

Regardless, for me it comes down to giving Mahomes and the Chiefs the benefit of the doubt when it comes to stats when you are 3-0. Burrow has some cool stats, but it's week 4 and his team is preparing for a must win game against the Carolina Panthers, as insane as that sounds.

Let's keep this away from becoming a political thread. The whole point of having a hobby is to have a refuge from the constant barrage of that kind of stuff.

So somebody mentioned it earlier: the Chiefs are the second highest scoring team in the AFC through Week 3.

So if you're telling me "the Chiefs offense doesn't look good!", then which offense in the AFC does? Other than the Bills.... which is a story we've seen before and has ended the same way 3 times already.

you know, if you really want to see 4td 0int, you can look into the current best QB in the NFL. The guy achieved it on one half and threw it to 4 diferent guy you know. The guy who have almost twice as Mahomes QBR. Don't be a prisoner of the past and appreciate greatness (current one)
