As a long time denizen of Houston, I can tell you that non-mobile QB's do not do well long term on the Texans.

I'd say he is more mobile than you'd think. Sure he isn't Kyler Murray, but he isn't Big Ben either.

David Mills, probably at best is a serviceable QB as a starter for years to come in the same vein as a Jay Cutler, Andy Daulton, and name almost any player who was in the NFL for 5-10 years but has since retired or been relegated outside of The Top 10 today. With that being said, maybe if you buy cheap and sell to locals, there could be money to be made, but probably not. Look at Doug Williams and Joe Flacco who won Super Bowls or even players like Warren Moon, Phil Sims, Boomer Esiason, Mark Rypien, Kurt Warner and so many others who were good if not great players, but as far as card values goes, aren't the darlings of the hobby.

Football card investing is so tricky on the spec. The widow of opportunity to get out at a peak is difficult to time. There's usually only a few sustainable players but once they fade or retire, they're fogotten outside of maybe a dozen players every decade.

Reading back on this thread and laughing. Going back a couple months and looking at some people here (you know who you are) talking about Fields in his thread and Mills in this thread, and where we are now, makes me laugh and really happy.

I know more than most and it does well for my cardboard investments!

His prices weren't that high at all, save for some of his high end cards. Mills was a starter. Not a good one, but a starter no less. The truth is: there aren't more than 10 or 11 guys today that any team would want if all 32 were looking for a quarterback. Mills has some ability, but no ability to close. The Texans should have at least 3 wins. It was time to make a change. But there should be a few more before season's end.
