Default eBay buyers can now request cancellations directly via new option

How do yall feel about this as sellers?

Every 4-6 months, ebay makes selling worse and worse.

Agreed.

However- as a seller, I would be on board with this if they added the following:

1. Like the feedback revision requests for sellers, buyers are only allowed a certain number of cancelation requests per month.

2. Sellers are offered another buyer requirement option of blocking buyers who request a certain number of cancelations in a given period.

3. Sellers are given the same allowance of canceling transactions they don't want to complete with questionable buyers with the same assurance of protection from neutral or negative feedback from the buyer.

Doesn’t really affect anyone that ships daily. The increased likelihood of repeat purchases (assuming on eBay in general, not the particular seller) is great. Hopefully it pushes the slow shippers off of eBay.

In all honesty it does not change much. They couold still request cancellation up til you shipped and you would be a fool not to cancel as a seller. All it really does not is makes it an official request which benefits sellers in some ways. I do see how some buyers could abuse it though.

If a seller states a shipping time then Ebay protects that time. This actually could add a new layer of protection in cases where the buyer decides he wants to cancel after the fact because he does not like their stated handling time. Cancellation requests equal auto block. I don't give a crap otherwise. It nice Ebay protects sellers from buyers who get butthurt because they are too stupid to read.

They protect sellers from bad feedback regardless of if they accept or not which is nice.

But not from returns. Gotta keep that in mind before you decline.

Also if you decline and they have not paid you will not be able to give them a strike which is currently the policy

What do you consider a slow shipper?

Would be nice if the canceled item was removed from your 'Waiting For Feedback' list faster than 90 days

Will be interesting if buyers can leave feedback on the auctions they cancelled.
