Don’t remember the exact details but over the course of just a couple days, sold 2 entirely different items, to 2 entirely different people, that lived roughly 3 streets away from each (about 5 minute walk) in a small Missouri town.

Also, (this just happened last year) spent a week vacation in South Carolina (live in PA). Got home after the vacation. Literally the following day, sold a baseball card to someone that lived roughly a 15 minute drive from the house we were staying at in South Carolina.

I think about these 2 scenarios often

Default Cardboard oddities....

Digging the topic. Nothing of course is paranormal…just chance coincidence How about the timing of this one:

Seller has a high priced marvel error card at like $3k obo (you know how that is on eBay). It’s a wrong back from junk wax era of marvel, 1992 Marvel Masterpieces spidey vs venom- basically a unique error card. I think it’s still listed. Being the error nut I am, I was prepared to pay way over market for this error card, and offered somewhere in the range or $1000-1500 for it. Was autodeclined.

Right after I made that offer, another of that wrong back Spiderman vs Venom pops up on eBay in the range of $80. (astronomical odds- this is a printing fluke error that basically you won’t just find on eBay for years on end, if ever. To find one come to market right next to the other one). I hit the buy it now faster than the voyager spacecraft left the solar system. I mean the cheaper listing was closer to fair market value (certainly not $3k), but really lucked out there and needless to say grateful for the first seller autodeclining my offer, saved a cool $1k or so. Haven’t seen another example since. That timing was off the charts.

Congrats! I love when something like that happens for collectors.

Had this happen to me when I went to Montana for work, then had a sale when I returned to MA to that Montana town.

Yea usually paying way over market as an error collector ...was a welcome break.

The card in question:

needless to say not the normal back! Imagine two of this fluke misprint hitting the market together like that, almost a unique card in a junk era. Crazy odds.

I didn’t realize you could even cover the bottom of the can with JMU players ?

I find it odd that all the teams that play James Madison all have names : George Mason, Troy Trojans, Del A Ware, etc

The hobby really does need a good cardboard creepypasta.
