Mmmmh so it seems my theory about his Bowman autos could be true. Licensed Metropolitans autos are the first autos produced and signed during his Rookie season and will be the chase cards to get when it comes to his early autographs. I’m not a big fan of unlicensed Topps Now cards.
I personally think his Metropolitans cards are unique and won’t be produced anymore in the future.

In general the prices for his autos sold do support your argument

I think it'll be interesting to see what happens when his first licensed spurs autos come out, though. Will the Mets cards remain dominant or will the spurs autos become his defacto "rookie auto" cards?

Rookie autos 2 years after rookie year… I think this Topps Chrome release will be a bloodbath but Wemby and LeBron will do well. Only 2 real chase cards as unlicensed cards will be hard to move. Also curious if sealed product will increase over time.

Next October feels already really near, but I hope Topps Chrome will not come out in 2026 July or even later..

Something related to this release, will this transition have any impact on the popularity of older Topps Chrome products in the hobby? I guess it all depends on how well Fanatics delivers (especially the quality and popularity of the new Topps Chrome Basketball). And will Panini stay in the hobby with unlicensed stuff (and how that transition will impact Prizm brand). Back in 00s Topps Chrome was amazing, but Topps never did well with high end products (Upper Deck was way better with Exquisite, Ultimate Collection etc). Im not so sure how will Topps replace National Treasure, Immaculate etc. (or at least how well).

This will give new life to the ultra premium brands that Topps currently markets like Dynasty, Diamond Icons, Five Star, Sterling etc. Feels like basketball and football collectors have generally been more accepting of luxe premium offerings than baseball collectors anyway

Is this guy pumping for his breaks or something? The no-logos doesn't bother him here but he notices immediately for baseball? lmao, i'm the opposite and would easily notice opening unlicensed baseball. Maybe if I was trying to move breaks though I'd say I don't notice it.
