I was hoping for it to get better each episode. Then just decided to finish it. Maybe season 2 will be better. But overall it wasn’t very good. I’d imagine the original writing is pretty good. But whoever took the project and converted it to a show just hasn’t done a great job with it. They didn’t even have to write it so a lot of the work was already done for them. Only a few of the characters were interesting in season 1. Most were forgettable.

George R.R. Martin, the writer of the stories "Fire and Blood" co-created this show that adapts them, but you can blame the other co-creator, Ryan Condal, if you want to.

I think there's an illustrated version of it that has already come out, or is coming out soon.

Maybe Season 2 can slow down the timeline some, but I can't fault the producers for making something the viewer needs to pay attention to in order to derive the most from. As for character development, they apparently cut some pretty meaty material that had been filmed, probably for time:

If they'd cut stuff like this, probably a lot of other material exists that could be re-incorporated. I don't think most find this show to be too long, if anything, more like it's too short. Maybe we'll get expanded editions of these episodes someday.

I'm interested to see if the trading card set(s) for "House of the Dragon" will rival those made for the original GoT series. Rittenhouse Archives put out new cards for each season and several auxiliary sets of the original show that together comprised a fairly comprehensive autograph card collection featuring most of the featured characters from the entire run.

From this one, I'd definitely like a card from Paddy Considine (Viserys I), and I know there are some "Doctor Who" collectors who want a card of Matt Smith (Prince Daemon) as he played the role during a popular run.

George did finish it, but he's only showing it to his closest friends, and you have to be invited to his Santa Fe home to read the hand-written manuscripts for the final two books.

There are plenty of twists and turns typical of his work, but ultimately, it turns out that the butler did it.

It's true there's only 8 episodes, but most are super sized, so the total run time is almost exactly 9 hours, which is pretty much the same as ten standard 54 minute episodes.

Tonight's episode was 70 minutes. Next week is 67 minutes, and the season finale is 73 minutes.

Think this season has been good overall....the last few epp's (2.5 & 2.6) have been a bit slow, but that's what happens when 2.4 is a crazy good episode.

Anyone know if they have released season 3 info? Just hoping its not an extremely long time until it is released.
