Default Do you lock your car doors at night?

Rash of thefts from unlocked cars reported on my neighborhood listserv prompted this poll.

Nope, I'm fortunate to have a locked garage.

I don't usually, mostly because I don't keep anything in there worth stealing in the first place. I have had someone go through my console before but like I said there was nothing for them which is probably the best deterrent.

Only the cars outside. Those in the garage are left open.

I don't have a garage, so yes. Heck, I even lock the doors if I just run into the house for a second to grab something

Nah all I have are motorcycles which now have weird start up tricks making it hard to "guess" right and my other vehicles are standard transmissions and according to the dmv less than 5 percent of the population can drive those either.

What is self lock? I don’t even know what that is

I just hit the button on the car door or do it from my phone

Appreciate the support though

When I walk away from the CRV and one other car they both lock automatically.

Yes. California is crime country. You roll the dice if you don't lock it

Nah, mine is in a garage and my keys are kept well inside the house, not just inside the door like some morons in our area do. Never leave any valuables in the car.

We had a rash of thieves hitting up open garage doors at night and would just go in and poke in the door into the entry way and grab keys sitting on the counter, we keep that door to the garage bolted at night as well as making sure the garage door is always closed.
