Oooof.

Such a cool piece of history, that would be a regret at almost any price.

At least you got to keep it for a while in your collection.

A guy had that 1/1 Prizm Black Patty at a local show in Johnston, Iowa for 12K. I knew then it was a great deal, but I didn't have that kind of money to spend on a card at the time. I figured it would double or triple at some point, but it is worth way more than that today.

Oh man, small world! You must know Chuck then, because I think you were setup right next to him at that show.

My Magic decks got stolen in 98 or 99, but the worst feeling is that thirty years later I will still occasionally find the rule books that came with starter decks stashed in random boxes of sports cards.

Had a bunch of Aaron Judge Sterling autos from 2013 that I got in numerous case breaks.

I think I sold them all for roughly $40-$50 each back then.

Ya…I’m in this boat as well. I played Magic hard from about 2004-2007 and built up a nice collection that included 2x revised Underground Sea, Platuea, Scrubland, and the crown jewel a copy of Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale. Along with a good amount of other reserve list and what were at the time “extended” staples. Sold out of it for $650 cash because I told myself they’d just sit in a box and I’d probably never play again.

Fast forward to Covid and I picked the game back up and decided to check prices on some of my favorite cards to see if I could pick them back up to put in a deck. I was…not pleased.
