Are you cracking it? Is the hope for a bump or just to get in an SGC slab? I have a PSA 9 Griffey UD that is as clean can be but I feel like they just refuse to give out 10s on that card. Was curious if I sent it for a cross if SGC would give it an honest look without cracking. In the opposite scenario we already know that answer.

I'm trying without cracking, will report back. Mine is a LeBron bazooka mini RC that's low pop in a PSA 10. I tried crossing (cracked) from a CGC 10.

And yes I am hoping for a 10. Would prefer 9.5 over PSA 9 too. The card looked good to me (and CGC).

Not sure what their holiday schedule looks like for July 4th but at the very least expect at minimum for them to be closed Thursday maybe Friday also. So orders that were received last week that people are expecting to pop this week might not pop until next week sometime. Also expect a slow down later part of the month as they shift their resources to onsite grading at The National. Usually takes a week to get everything and everyone in place and another week to get them back.

I could be wrong, but I heard that SGC isn't doing onsite grading at The National this year, and instead only accepting drop-offs submissions.

Correct, Peter said on Sports Card Nonsense that they will likely only do drop-offs. NEO Card and Comics also said the same in his latest video.

It's not just the holiday, I'd imagine there's a lot of people taking time off too.

Pleased with the results. I thought the Harden and 2022-23 Select would be 10s, with the rest 9s (and fingers crossed for gem). Very happy with how Essentials pops even more than I expected in the SGC slab.

Got the 9 which is disappointing. Wanted the 9.5 at least. Oh well, guess I'll crack and try again with SGC or PSA at some point.

With the rough cut of the card top/bottom and the extra paper on the left hand corner, it looks graded correctly to me. I don't see it grading any higher.

This one was a CGC 10. Had one of these with a similar cut get a PSA 10 in the past. Was during the bubble and couldn't pass up the price they were selling for. It just depends who is looking at it.

Current grading standards are getting tougher and tougher. I have PSA 10's graded from this era during the bubble and they wouldn't get 10's now. Same thing with CGC. During the beginning, CSG was grading huge amount of sports cards with new graders. Now they have very few sports card graders around and grades are not gifted anymore. Probably the best bet to get a current 10 is send to PSA bulk where you might get a grader who gifts out 10's.

Disagree. Have had some recent over graded cards from SGC. Again, just pulling the slot lever of which grader you get.

SGC is pumping out the sports cards right now and rushing through things. Would you rather have a card graded correctly or overgraded? I would be extremely happy with this card that has the correct grade on the label.

After examining in person I think 9.5 is a fair grade for this.

Was this one of the ones you tried to straight cross?

That's just not true. I had an order come back on some 90s Jordans and they were spot on. I don't know about the "rushed" comment, that's reaching.
