Default toughest unopened box to find

I know that there are boxes you wish you had or wish you had not opened. What is your current unopened box you wish you could buy or that you can not find to purchase.

of course, vintage is extremely tough/impossible to find, but surprisingly, some of the more modern UD products are extremely difficult to locate, especially the years 2004-2009.

the jumbos were such value back in 09' during the purge before panini took over. i believe they also had logomen in them which was wild for a base/lowend product.

Most of the stuff I want to open isn’t even tough to find, it’s just a crapshoot due to bricking.

There’s “many” 61 fleer

I don’t think there are any public 57 and def no 48 bowman - I’ve only seen single packs and very few of both

I heard a rumor of a lot of a few 69 bkball that will be coming to the market. Let’s see?

Which historic box could you open at current market prices and reasonably expect to make back 20 percent?

Back in like 2005 or 2006 Blowout had a special 98-99 Flair Showcase basketball boxes were like $45 a box. I think I bought 4 of them was in college at the time and was excited to get the opportunity to get some Dirk / Vince Rcs and open one of the most expensive boxes from that time frame. Wish I would have kept at least one sealed.

Chronology is a good call, for sure.

You never see that anywhere.

It's far rarer than Exquisites and other high end from that era.

Would probably add in 2006-07 Fleer EX into that mix too.

Was 06-07 UD Black the one where boxes were redemptions in other sets? That might be the toughest to find

07 Chronology would be a terrible box to hold. So many cards are redemptions. 1 canvas rc redemption and around half the autos were redemptions from what I remember.

Damn, pull anything?

I bought like 3 boxes of 97-98 Finest when they were going for $150 on eBay and remember thinking it was a lot. Best pull was a Duncan gold.

In 2008 I could still find 1997-98 Finest and 1997-98 Skybox at shows for under $50. I was buying 1995-96 Ultra from Burbank for $30 in 2012. Some sites had 1995-96 Upper Deck for $30…

Still remember buying my 2009-10 Upper Deck case for a little under $500.

People will never believe but I got a 1997-98 Metal Championship box for my birthday in 1998 and it cost $30.

Miss opening up this stuff so much.

Notorious bricking boxes are 1993-94 Upper Deck and 1998-99 Hoops. Others too I’m sure but those two are especially awful.

Back in 2002 I think my dad bought two boxes of 98 Showcase for $25 a piece at a show and found a Jordan Takeittothenet/1000 in one box and a Vince Showcase insert/500 rookie in the other box!

Those are literally the best hits for each insert. Aside from legacies and masterpieces, perfect boxes. I actually bought that same Vince like ten years ago, Class of 98 is a beautiful set.

It’s wild how much the takeits shot up. But you can probably say that for most mj inserts.
