Yes DJ is nothing but a rally killer and from what I heard as thank goodness I didn’t see the game him and Volpe cost them a run with crappy baserunning. Would’ve come in handy and possibly prevented another loss.

The bottom two of the lineup are both hitting under .180. Like how do they even have jobs at this point? Also, I've been pretty consistent in saying that I don't think Holmes should be the closer. His stuff isn't good enough for that role. You want someone with a much higher k/9 ratio. He's too much a pitch to contact guy.

Jones is intriguing, but at AA (23 yrs old), he's a .245/.326/.414/.740 slash line with 116 strikeouts in 69 games played. Yes he has 10 HR and 18 SB, but I am not sure he's the answer.

That said I would take any promotion over Grisham-DJ-Gleyber-Ozzie Cabrera just to see if we have anything in them.

Give me Peraza, Vivas in the IF with Volpe and Rice. Jeter Downs is not on the 40-man so he would need a DFA.

We won't get Jones because he isn't on the 40-man without a DFA of a bum like Grisham, Jahmai Jones, JD Davis so don't expect any youth movements here. It's not the Yankee way

You are right about Holmes the thing that bothered me about last night is he could’ve walked Yoshida after he couldn’t get him the first 2 pitches that were fouled. Anything but a home run and they probably still win the game. I am sorry to say this but until Hal sells the team we will never see the necessary changes made to make the Yankees World Series contenders. They got away with being cheap and sneaking into the playoffs most of Boone’s stint. I don’t think they would win with Boone and Cashman at the helm even if they lucked into the necessary talent. My biggest gripe has been pulling Weaver too soon, he pitched 2 innings last night so they already lost him for today. He gave up 1 hit and was pitching good, if Boone kept him in and they still lost I could live with that, Holmes has blown too many games that were there for the taking if Boone doesn’t bring him in. I could list them but I am not in the mood right now.

Who's ready for their daily punishment? Could they make today hurt worse than yesterday? It would take a real masterpiece.

Haven’t started watching yet, just finished putting my Yankee hats in the closet as I don’t feel like wearing them at the moment. I will rock my New Orleans Zephyrs hat when I drive my son to work. At least that team no longer exists.

Maybe you should keep that hat in the closet. Maybe the luck we need.

No winning team ever had a player performing as bad as DJ. Not even a back up catcher.

Said the same thing, I also think Verdugo should wear one for his antics. It’s been too long that pitchers have let the batters dictate. I just think this whole let the kids play is garbage, let the kids get beaned and see how fast this bat flipping 35 second trip around the bases stop.

Rally killer run coster, there is no telling how many games he has cost them by not even being able to situationally hit.

Volpe sucks lately too. Just as I type that he hits a game tying double.

NYBBFAN is right I shouldn't be wishing for that. But it should be an absolutely uncomfortable at bat even if you walk him. But I agree there's a big difference between letting them "have fun" and an absolute taunt. We celebrate hockey players for standing up for their team but we frown upon baseball players doing the same thing.

Trevino hits a double in his last at bat so of course Boone pinch hits for him.
