If I'm reading right, the only meaningful change is that there's now a max pitch limit for each player in each round (40 pitches), but still timed - that seem right?

I still don't really like the timed rounds. It's so hard to actually watch and appreciate moonshots. If we really need to avoid the old format dragging on forever, go back to untimed rounds but keep a total pitch limit so the players can't pass on any pitch that isn't exactly where they want it

They need to add Baltimore to the upcoming mix with everything positive going on and give them metal bats. It would be a lot of fun seeing a lineup of lefties going for the warehouse with metal bats.

The need pitch machines. With tech and AI, I dont see a problem. Just have the celebrity or family member feed it with baseballs.

Not a ridiculous idea. Takes any pressure that might exist off the ball tossers.

Everything in baseball is timed now. Manfred must have gotten a watch for Christmas and fell in love with it.

The pitch limit is a good idea - a big problem in the current format has been some guys getting significantly more pitches to swing at than others. But retaining the timer is stupid. Either make it just a pitch count, period, with no timer, or go back to the ten outs format.

Remember all the years you watched the HR Derby and it was amazing, well the power to be think you were wrong. They know how to improve it. Just sit down and shut up.

Im one of the few I guess, I love the Timed format. The other was too long and boring. I dont want to wait to see a Swing every 70 seconds.

Where in the history of the HRD (pre-timer) did it take 70 seconds between swings?

I never have liked the Home Run Derby and I hate when anyone I PC or on my team participates...
