Big addition to thr Mavs, even if he is starting to decline. Numbers aren't far off the last 3 yrs and a more reliable 3 pt shot than DJJ. Sacrificing the lost D, but a vote of confidence from Nico that they still think the West is winnable

Maybe they could trade him straight up for Nesmith to bring A-dog some hobby relevance and pump your bags

Prefacing this as a bandwagon 12 year Warrior fan.

Absolutely hilarious that Klay is seemingly taking less money to go to Dallas after the Warriors offered far more AAV. Klay will always be a Warriors legend but it's laughable how he's acted. He wanted to continue to be paid for who he was instead of who he is even though the Warriors paid him for the past 5 years for who he once was. Normally I'd be on the players side but the Warriors showed him 'loyalty' already. They didn't owe him a thing.

I'm sure the Warriors would've done a $17 million AAV after offering $24 and him being 'insulted'. Hope Klay gets what he's looking for Basketball wise, but the Dallas fans won't give him much grace if he plays like he did last year.

Tend to agree, i really wanted the splash brothers to retire together. that relationship must have really fractured. i see Klay as Kyle Korver now. i still like the signing for Dallas. Kyrie and Luka dominate the ball, Klay just needs to run to his spot and wait for the ball.

Klay over played his hand and misjudged his own worth at this point.

Little extreme on the Korver comparison now lol

Klay's agent said one of the reasons he signed with the Mavs was no state income tax. I'm assuming that covers about, what, 1M a year? He just overplayed his hand.

For the Mavs is great, a Klay that knows what his role should be is a great 3rd wheel. And if it only costed Josh Green, DJJ and THJ, even better.

Depends which Korver, 2010-2014 Korver would be a steal at that price.

Pretty sure it comes down to playing time (and possibility of playing as a starter too) with the added bonus of a possible CHIP.

Is Klay going to start for Dallas? I don't know that that's guaranteed.

It clearly came down to hurt feelings with him thinking he should be paid for 2019 version of Klay Thompson.

Don’t forget about Dort. Guessing either Caruso or Hartenstein will be coming off the bench. Maybe depending on who they’re playing. My guess would be Caruso off the bench but ends up with as many or more minutes than Dort.

Throw in Jaylin Williams, Cason and Isiah Joe - that’s a strong top 9

SGA/AC/J-Dub/Chet/Hartenstein might be the best starting 5 in the league. And they have a hell of a bench.

I assumed he would (at least to start the season) but who knows.

I don’t think it necessarily came down to the money.

A chance at a CHIP probably helped with that decision too.

As much as I loved the Curry-Klay-Draymond trio, the Dubs needed to move on from Klay to have a realistic shot of competing too. Sucks to acknowledge though, that’s my team and trio.

Instead of the splash brothers, do we call them the Earp brothers now?

What do you think about them moving on from Draymond? I understand how integral he has been to winning Championships... you can argue he was the most important player but having said that, I could put forth a very strong argument that his behaviour ultimately destroyed the dynasty.

Dubs window is closed no matter what. I would be breaking up all the vets except Curry. You let Curry decide what he wants to do. Problem with trading Draymond is three-fold. He always played at an athletic deficit, but that deficit is a lot bigger now. His unique role of passing, screening, etc really only fits a system like Golden State. Add in all the extra curriculars. I don't see any team really wanting to take him on.
