Peter Stastny was second only to Gretzky for points in the 80s. If he had come over in 1975 as a 19 year old he'd likely be top-10 AT in scoring right with Phil Esposito and Joe Sakic. Stastny's Nordiques were a formidable squad but could never get over the hump.
Right now Connor is the best player in the world but his team isn't quite there to win a Cup. Sure, barring injury he should have many great years ahead of him but getting back to the SCF isn't a given, even with the demise of dynasties.
Hawerchuk was incredible in his early years.

Which will be greater when the season is over - McDavid's assist total or Bedard's point total? Right now they're equal. I think if McDavid doesn't prioritize sniping it has to be his assist total, but it'll be interesting to compare them at the end of the season.

Today's game is very different from the 70's - 80's ... it started to really change as guys like Kariya, Bure, Jagr, ... came into the league ... speed was getting almost out of control by the early 2000's and today it is even faster ...

the wildest Gretzky stat is that he's the fastest and second fastest to 1000 points if you measure how many it took to go from 1001-2000

The question is does he put it all on the line on Thursday vs the USA or make a business decision? I think the latter.

With the recent pull of the 1/1 Retro Outburst, it got me thinking—what’s the more significant gimmick McDavid Young Guns card? The Retro Gold Outburst or the 30th Anniversary Buyback from 2019-20 Series 2?

In my opinion, the 30th Anniversary Buyback holds more weight since it’s an original 2015 Young Guns card with added manufactured scarcity.

Has the 30th Anniversary Buyback ever been confirmed to have been pulled?

I kind of find the gold cooler than just adding "1 of 1" to the card but neither are very appealing to me for the price they go for. Much rather have a high end RPA but that's just my taste in cards

At this price level, a Roy OPC PSA 10 or a Gretzky OPC (probably a PSA 8) are sharp options too!

I guess the McDavid 30th Anniversary buyback was pulled and UD had it autographed as an Easter Egg.

Based on "importance", I'd say yes...

It's easily the 30th anniversary Buyback auto.

Take MJ for example...2006-07 Fleer/UD inserted 23 buyback auto RCs to celebrate the 20th anniversary of 1986 Fleer and they go for crazy money.

I'd much rather have that than a reprinted 1/1 insert of the MJ Fleer 57. Like you said, one is an actual RC that the player signed and the other is a manufactured gimmick bc last year's success.

Now if that 1/1 was released McDavid's rookie year vs. a 1/1 auto buy back released in 2019? I'd probably go with the rookie year 1/1.

Btw, congrats to the guy on here who pulled it. The 1/1 is still a fantastic pull.
