I am sure I am the only Wizards fan that is active on this forum, so with that being said I thought it would be fun to make a thread covering this long rebuild from the very beginning.
They may challenge the Charlotte Bobcats for worst record ever in the regular season next year, but there is a lot to look forward to with this new front office and roster (Which I havent been able to say for years). Feel free to chime in and give your thoughts on this long journey forward. In Coulibaly we trust ![]() ![]() ![]() #TANKATHON #POOLEPARTY #AGENTZERO2.0 Last edited by Braswell10; 06-26-2024 at 06:17 PM. |

You have a long journey ahead of you, but I think Tyus Jones and Jordan Poole have enough talent to keep you from the worst record ever.

Indeed, the front office is shooting for 5 years I believe. Hoping that Poole can average about 28 a game and then the Wiz can flip him for some good draft capital.

Idk about worst record ever; but clearly they aren't competing for the playoffs.

What's the over/under on how many games is Jordan Poole going to score 30+ points on less than 50% shooting with multiple turnovers while the Wizards lose?

Game 1 vs the Indiana Pacers is in the book! Final score WAS 120 IND 143.
Great way to start the tank as the Wizards did their best to limit the Pacers to only 143 pts in 4 quarters. No huge scoring games from the Wizards unfortunately, but Kuzma poured in 25 pts and Poole dropped a huge 18 pts w/ 0-6 from 3pt range. In addition Danilo Gallinari turned back the clock and scored a respectable 16 points off the bench. Although Gallinari shot the ball well, it seemed as if he wore the new Nike Cement 1s tonight as the guy played no defense. At least we know someone on the Wizards is embracing the tank!! ![]() Other notables from the game include Corey Kispert looking like Davis Bertans the entire first half - shooting every thing he touched, as well as Deni Avdija not knowing how to dribble with his off hand. Thankfully, the Wizards just resigned Avdija to a 4 year contract! But what everyone really tuned in to see was the Wizards future superstar Bilal Coulibaly. While he had a relatively quiet game, he had a modest statline of 3pts/4rebs/3ast and 3 really nice blocks. He may have been the only Wizard that actually attempted to play defense. All in all, a great way to start the season!

Quick write up about the Grizzlies game the other night before the Celtics game.
First W of the season is in the books! Unfortunately for the Wizards, the Grizzlies look to be the worst team in the league without Ja Morant and Steven Adams. I only got to watch a qtr and a half of the game, but its sad when you are even in rebounds with a team whose centers are Daniel Gafford and an old Gallinari who has a 2 inch vertical. Corey Kispert was hot from the field, which may end up winning us a few games. Hopefully the coaches get on him about that and tell him to miss more shots next time. Jordan Poole got the memo though as he scored 27 points on a scorching 8-23 shooting night. He is the perfect player to get this tank going! Kuzma also chipped in with a respectable 1-10 from 3pt. The Wizards future, Bilal Coulibaly, was on full display tonight grabbing 1 rebound and 1 block in 23 minutes. He made that one rebound look good, and his ability to catch the ball off the rim and turn up court is promising. Looking forward to the Celtics game tonight to see if the Wizards are true contenders. It is also the Porzingus revenge game!

Well, this game against Boston is exactly what was expected. The Celtics jumped out to a 40 point lead and then rested their starters halfway into the 3rd quarter.
Shout out to the bench and the young guys on the roster who managed to cut the deficit down to a respectable 19 points. Kuzma looked good on offense, while Poole only managed 11 points. This teams defense is really bad, especially the starters. The two bright spots of the game were Bilal Coulibaly who filled up the stat sheet with a nice 9pts/5reb/1ast/2blks/1stl and Eugene Omoruyi who was a +14 and 5/5 in 12 minutes with 14pts and 6 rebounds. No Daniel Gafford tonight meant the Celtics were able to score at will in the paint. Hopefully Omoruyi gets more minutes as he always plays with fire. Hawks up next on Wednesday!

Review of the game vs the Hawks.
I really like what coach Unseld is doing with the starters - Jordan Poole in particular. He only played Poole 20 minutes. He is basically saying that if you do not want to at least seem like you want to win, then you will not play. Poole has played no defense, and most times shows no effort. I really like what Kyle Kuzma is doing. He is one of the only bright spots on the team. He shows a lot of effort, and he is doing it at an efficient pace. Wizards were up 6 points in the 2nd qtr, so I got up to make some food. By the time I got back, they were down 9 at halftime. Starters got blown out, but again, the bench looked good. Deni Avdija scored 22 points and Bilal Coulibaly and Ryan Rollins both had a respectable +15 and +17 +/-. We play the Heat tonight in the premier of the In-Season tournament. Should be a good game hopefully as the Heat are 1-4. |

That 4th qtr against the Heat tonight was one of the most inspired Wizards basketball performances I have seen in awhile. Starters were down 20+ and the bench came in and got the deficit down to 7 points. The bench forced the Heat to put their starters in, and the Wizards still outscored them.
Props to Unseld for not putting the starters back in and allowing the young guys to show what they got and to play with heart. Coulibaly with a really nice game, and Johnny Davis went 5/5 from the floor. Really like the bench unit. Our starters need to start playing like they want to win...even if we are tanking.

Pretty disappointed about the Deni trade. They better have a plan and flip Brogdon quick
