Yeah Skinner and Nurse need to go, or at the very least Nurse needs to become the third defensive pairing. The way Nurse played that horrible turnover is all I needed to see. Looks shell-shocked/several steps behind.

I think the Oilers will still be good for a long time but they need to land a legit goalie (Saros?) and an elite defender (Josi?). Even if that means trading away Skinner/Bouchard/draft picks to make the deal. For all of his great offensive talent, he has really showed a lot of defensive deficiencies this playoffs.

I think they should pair McDavid with non-elite forwards, and then shift the Hymans/Nugent-Hopkins/top forwards down to the second and third lines. Then roll those 3 lines.

And after this season, the likes of Holloway and Broburg need to step up even more.

It took a while for the Red Wings to win their first Cup with Yzerman. It took a while for the Lightning to win their first Cup with Stamkos.

If he, Hyman, Leon and Nuge held their end of the bargain they would possibly be winning this series.

They are getting depth scoring EVERY game.

You are bragging about 3 assists in the 1st 3 games of a Stanley Cup Final by the best player in the league. BTW, you never did mention who scored those goals? Every single goal until tonight was by a depth player. Heck, even the 1st 3 goals tonight were all scored by depth players.

The 1st 7 goals the Oilers scored this series were all by depth players. Not a single top guy scored until tonight. If the top guys showed up during the 1st 3 games this series would likely at least be tied.

We have different definitions when it comes to depth scoring. I don’t consider a defenseman scoring “depth scoring”.

More than anything else, Rodrigues and Bobrovsky have combined to make the fact that the Panthers top players each only have 1 (or no) goal a non-issue.

Skinner was fantastic tonight too. Overlooked because of how good the offense was.
