How do you quantify that he has been “largely a passenger”? Going into this game, Barkov had 2 assists this series vs McDavid’s 1. So that extra assist doesn’t make Barkov a passenger?

Where did I mention Barkov? What has Barkov ever been the best player in the league? Barkov isn't even the best player on his team.

My question remains if the media drags McDavid for this poor (thus far) finals performance like they have Luka today. Who has had a much better finals but also much more crying.

What a letdown of a series for the Oilers. I’d like to think McDavid will get another crack at it, but you really just never know. I’d personally like to see him move on from the Oilers when his contract is up, just seems like an impossible place to get over the hump.

So … how are you defining that McDavid is just a passenger? By the number of points he has produced so far? Or another metric?

By the fact that outside of 1.5 periods in game 2 he has been invisible in the finals (this is not a statement of prior rounds). Drait has been even worse.

Oil gave it a good ride at least. Again, you have a goalie that can't be beat vs one giving up freebies in the Cup Final. Not gonna win like that.

The last 40 seconds where Florida stuffed the puck in the corner and zero Oilers tried to be physical to jar it loose is the softest ending to a Stanley Cup final game I can ever recall.

Yes very sad and the reason why you see conspiracy theories of the NHL Rigging the lottery to give the Blackhawks Bedard. If he ends up on a warm weather team...the hype/value is halved. I'd like to stay optimistic and hope for a new crop of Florida collecting Bandwagoners..but I just don't see it....there isn't anything hyped for them to collect. You have to go back 10 years until there is a Florida uniform Young Gun that consistently sells for over $5 raw.

Canada has done its best to keep the game in the dark ages of goonery while the rest of the league is winning Cups.

Really unfortunate but when you are considered the best player in the world, you have to step up on the biggest stage and take over a game or series.

Connor has definitely played well, but he hasn’t been the best player on the ice at all yet. Gonna be thought for him and Edmonton for thus chance to disappear.

The only good thing that MIGHT come out of the Oilers getting swept is that they'll realize Skinner isn't the answer and go get a real goalie...

And if there's any way to get rid of Nurse, they need to do that too...

Otherwise, I'm not sure we see Edmonton/McDavid in another SC Final...
