And then keep in mind that the Hill case, while the impetus, was not all that MLB was looking into. That was merely one of a few incidents that MLB investigated.

The DV policy gives Manfred a wide path for suspension. He used it. Bauer used his path to appeal. He'll forfeit his next 50 MLB game payroll to complete his suspension, should he make it back into the league.

Regardless, Bauer has been free to sign with any team...and no team has taken the bait, nor has any credible information come out about any MLB interest.
I don't know what details I'm missing... I have strictly been calling out the hypocrisy of Manfred and the MLB, when it comes to this type of cases.

As smart as he thinks he is, Bauer is really a complete idiot. If your ultimate boss, in this case Manfred, doesn't like you to begin with and your union agreed to a DV policy that gives a lot of latitude to that boss, you would want to make sure you don't give him any reason to ever use it against you.

That has been my whole point Manfred using the DV policy and getting the chance to rid himself of Bauer and the spider tack stuff, etc. is just plain hypocrisy. And obviously nothing will be done about it. And yes Bauer helped give him the reason to be able to get rid of him by some of his actions. But 2 wrongs don't make a right there are plenty of players throughout the game that have done far worse and got by.

I think the punishment in the Bauer case has shown that we haven't really seen "this type of case" before.

Bingo. It has nothing to do with the allegations or the social media or how he is in the clubhouse. It's all about the fact that Bauer has rightfully called him out on multiple things. Don't forget Manfred tried suspending him for 324 games and Bauer successful appealed that as well

We have seen domestic violence policies broken before, but guess what the other guys didn't call out baseball for other things.

Just because he maybe annoying he should not be pitching. So what about the domestic abusers they should be playing. You must PC Ozuna and a few more. I bet your PC is pretty big.

Even when he signed with the Dodgers before any of this stuff happened, he had a reputation that the GM had to vouch for, after which he was immediately made to look stupid. I can't imagine there's a ton of GMs that want to have to deal with that liability as evidenced by nobody signing him despite obvious needs.
He has never been convicted of anything. Plenty of bums here that had domestic charges like Ozuna they are playing. Pretty obvious why. That is another thread or poll. he got a 193 game suspension for nothing. Do I agree with his attitude ? No. I do before the woman abusers. That is the problem the league gives multiple chances for drug abusers and chumps that beat women and charged but Bauer is black balled.

It was originally a 324 game suspension. The arbiter reduced it to 194, which was 144 games on the 2022 season, plus 50 games for the "time served" when he was on administrative leave the second half of 2021. That's why there's the 50 games unpaid still pending. At the end of the day, the arbiter basically ended the suspension and reinstated Bauer, nothing about it really said whether it was a fair suspension, but more of a "well, he's already served those games, we can't go back and magically allow him to play."

Again, learn the details.

It's glaringly obvious that the suspension meted out was not the result of one violation of the DV policy. Even the reduced suspension shows that it was much more than a singular incident.

It's your choice to be curious.

Yes, learn the details. The arbiter made their ruling in the offseason after 7 months. And he called it good and reinstated Bauer. That's how they came up with the 194 games, cut down from the original 324.

I'd say it's glaringly obvious that Manfred's hatred of Bauer over the Houston punishment and the sticky tack played into Manfred's excessive suspension.

Lots of words for very little being said. You just screaming you must PC these woman abusers because this wah comes across as you having way to much emotion tied into this.

Also please explain why it's "pretty obvious why". I'm very curious to hear this one.

Did the union ever do anything to help or support Bauer?

Yeah people slobber all over Chris sale's bat knob calling him a great comeback story but forget he's the same psychopath that takes a pair of scissors to his jerseys because he didn't like the way they looked and cussed out the then president of the team. But Bauer is a cancer. lol

No player is perfect and there will always be a select few with an axe to grind that will find something wrong with every little thing they do. This man's entire life was destroyed because some vindictive bimbo got her feelings hurt and decided to lie to the police. Whether you like his attitude or not until it's proven he can't do it on the field anymore he should be given a second chance.

IF some team believes his talent is worth the negative publicity that comes with it they will sign him. It they do not believe this than he will not be signed.

I will outline some reasons Trevor Bauer is not signed and why teams probably are avoiding him.

1) He is unreliable off the field with his antics and blog
Source:https://www.nbcsports.com/mlb/news/t...is-drone-again
https://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/10/tre...blue-jays-alcs
2) Making enemies with certain ownership figures and tweeting dumb things about him signing with one team and not doing it. This does not impress or endear you to teams. Teams like players who can keep off social media.

https://sny.tv/articles/latest-on-fr...t-trevor-bauer
3) Attitude on field is well documented of being awful, not just in the usa but other countries he has decided to step foot in

4) Saying out loud "I stopped agreeing to engage in rough sex " is not something you say out loud when you are being accused of beating someone up in bed. I personally do not care what you do in bed but teams signing you do. They don't want to hear that you still or in the past ever engaged in rough sex acts. Consensual or not.

Whenever you hear of say a celebrity or politician hiring a crisis management team, Bauer is doing the opposite of that.

100%. Any crisis management employee would be screaming at him to stop this. Honestly give some of this blame to his agent. She should be telling him to stop. Also I did see that if Bauer doesn’t play in the majors this year, and his agent doesn’t sign a deal to represent a different MLB’er, she’s going to lose her agent’s license
