Default Ebay / Paypal purchases question

Yes I still use Paypal. Forgive me if this has already been covered.

Ebay now deducts the payment from my bank account instead of Paypal balance (which I would prefer). There used to be a pop-up that would give you the option to use either but that has disappeared. Any way to change that?

The day they stop letting me pay with Paypal is the day I stop using Ebay all together.

Just ran into this myself. There are no options, and it will select your bank account regardless of what your preferred payment method is on paypal.

What happens if you log out of Paypal?

I bought a card on Ebay on 6/5 at around 11 pm CST using PayPal, and it defaulted to my preferred payment account (which is a credit card) when I checked out. You've probably checked to make sure PayPal still has your preferred payment account properly identified, but if not, maybe that's worth checking?

I've yet to find a compelling reason to move away from PayPal. Out of curiosity, what do you use (and what made you choose it over PayPal)?

I use a credit card for the 2% cash back.

Yeah, my preferred payment is a cc, but PayPal now uses my bank account if I buy on ebay. Digging around, I found a blurb that says if a site uses automatic payments, and you have a bank account on file, it will default to that.

I just deleted paypal as a payment option on ebay, and now it works. When checking out, it just takes me to paypal and I can choose payment sources normally.

Venmo, because the fees are less. If your talking EBay, I’ve used managed payments for a while now.
