His Cap after next year is 15,39,43,47 They have an out after year 3 and take that 47 down to 7 if they cut him. That will be his age 29 season, he will be ripe for new contract at that point. It looks like that front loaded a bunch of the signing bonus this year. Seems like a smart contract even if you are paying a WR too much money. He won't see the 47 the last year. Seems the trade off being done on these WRs is do a shorter higher value contract with a restructruing out on the last year. Jefferson will have an opportunity for another good contract before hitting 30.

Are people arguing that Darnold/McCarthy are better than Cousins?

Watching JJ make tackles after JJ throws another INT is going to be hilarious

Remember 2 yrs ago when everyone complained about the Christian Kirk deal and him not being worth it? That it reset the market? Well one of those may be true, but he only ranks 23 today. Just the market which is why it makes no sense to compare about overpay vs value. It always gets topped and quickly. Yes this includes the next quarterback deals. Only goes up unless you play RB or S.

The way wide receivers block, pass and play defense it makes sense. Good for him. Get the bag

Exactly

So a legit 180 from what you said

McCarthy didn’t throw INT’s in college
McCarthy hasn’t played in the NFL

You can’t have confirmation bias

Most people are far too reactionary with only short-term memories to recall these takes

But you are correct.
