As much as I love Sapphire, I'll still take these at $45/box over Sapphire at now $430 for one auto and three parallels.

But mainly because I'm no longer buying $400 worth of any release these days. I agree Mega boxes are way overpriced too.

I only bought three Mega boxes but if I bought nine, it seems like decent chances at one or more autos plus three or more parallels.

We thought exclusive licenses were bad, but an outright monopoly is slowly killing my enjoyment of the hobby.

Which makes it even worse. Retail wax price gouging in 2021 was the result of insatiable demand from consumers. That demand has vanished, and Fanatics/Panini still haven’t bothered to appropriately adjust.

Demand hasn't vanished for wax, it still sells out no matter how stupid the price. If something can be group broken,it can basically be priced at infinity and still sell out

I think demand has practically vanished for retail wax compared to the peak. No rush online. No lines in store. Markdowns. Shelves overstocked. No pictures of rooms full of hundreds of boxes of Prizm.

I'll disagree with this a bit at least store level in my town, Wemby and Stroud propped up retail to the point where you can't find Prizm/Optic/Select..never seen it in store at Wal Mart or Target.

For some of your run of the mill stuff I agree. But anything with Wemby or Bedard has been really tough to find lately as has been the most recent Optic football. I hadn't been to Target in years hunting for wax, most recent month or so i've seen a half dozen people stawking the stocker.

Yeah, something like Bowman Mega Box isn't going to stay on shelves more than a day or two. There's a reason why they got rid of the retail products like Gallery and Fire, but Bowman is still gonna sell through. The only place I've found any sort of premium products around here, though, is Barnes & Noble, which is still limited to one per SKU per customer/day.
