RIP. Loved how he overcame a stuttering issue to become to a fabulous broadcaster who used to wax poetic on various aspects of the game of basketball.

Whenever he shared a story or talked basketball, it would bring a smile to my face.

Just days after his beloved Pac 12 played their final sporting event too. He made those late night games fun.

Never saw him play live but I loved his distinctive voice on the broadcast. I will never forget his call for the 2002 NBA Finals... 'Kenyon Martin is absolutely torching Robert Horry' has been etched into my brain.

RIP big fella

Only played more than 60 games in a season 3 times.
In the 85/86 season he played in 80 games.
When he wasn't on the floor he was the biggest cheerleader the C's ever had.

I was a Lakers fan but once in a while I would sneak over to a Clippers game to listen to him and Ralph Lawler

When I would find out he was calling the Utes games I'd sell my tickets and stay home so I could listen to him. He never had a bad thing to say about the Utes basketball program.

RIP Bill Walton, always seemed like a gentle giant who loved the game.

Come on Celtics, do it for Bill!

Bill Walton and Steve Jones had great chemistry with Greg Gumbel and Tom Hammond during the NBC days

I remember a story about Walton's wife hiring a stripper for his 32nd birthday who showed up at Celtics practice and started doing her thing and Danny Ainge ran away, not wanting to see it.

The last time I saw Bill Walton was at the last Dead concerts in Chicago...we're both tall and I could see him 30 feet away...so happy he was. I never knew him, but as an NBA fan and a Deadhead, tonight I grieve.

Fare you well. If I knew the way, I would take you home.
