Ackshully, at San Diego Comic-Con last year, Metazoo had a booth and would occasionally give out promo cards that crossed over with Nintendo (or possibly Sanrio "Hello Kitty") characters. Some of those cards were selling for a $100+ dollars online immediately afterward. I stopped by a couple of times out of curiosity and a nascent desire for one (borne of opportunistic greed), but was unable to procure any at all. Someone else milling about there told me there had been a fistfight over them earlier that day. How, apparently, the mighty have fallen.

I really don't know. Part of me says No Risk, No Reward...and I think a set like this would be an epic reward. Another part says zoos keep the animals in separate cages for a reason and reinventing that wheel would be epically stupid.

As many of you know, I've got no problem doing stupid things, as long as they're fun. Is this going to be fun?

I am raising $480 to provide a day of breakfast at the local community breakfast. The organization is called Anchor Lancaster. I am accepting paypal donations or you could purchase a card in my one of my recent posts. Or, you could also donate directly to the organization however that would not go towards my total but would still be very awesome. If anyone would like do donate via paypal, please PM me and I will send my paypal address.

They provide around 150 hot breakfasts Monday through Friday regardless of weather or holidays. They provide showers for the unhoused. They have an awesome on site social worker and medical teams that come in throughout the week. They have a warming station in the winter and a cooling station during code reds.

I already received a very generous donation from this thread so thank you very much!

To be honest, I wish someone else would compile whatever is left of the checklist. I'm still up for it and still want to participate in whatever way works best for everyone because I know it'll end with this crew doing something for others, but if there's another option for moving the list forward besides me, that'd be fantastic.

I have read all 4 pages and this is where I stand.

1- it is a noble project and for the people pushing it along I commend you.

2- I have no problem sending out my signature for fun, ask TheFrenzy.

3- I don’t think having cards such as Metazoo is a good choice, for it to be truly a blowout or JBLR thing it should be the members own artwork and input rather than an established already failed set.

4- I think since the money would be going to Josie’s wonderful charity I don’t want to see the project scrapped just reworked so that is truly a member driven set. Metazoo should never be in the equation. We can come up with something that is truly of our own instead of lifting up a company that gave up on their own project.

Okay done rambling just throwing my thoughts out there take care Steve.

Not trying to set the donation floor, just trying to encourage at least 15 people to send in cards.

I will also be sending in with my Metazoo cards a few signed Rosen (and other famous Frenzy bums) as inserts.

I'm open to whatever, personally. I liked Metazoo because they are cheap to acquire and as far as I'm concerned, the auto is what makes it something I want anyway. There are other ways to get there though for sure.

Some folks already purchased Metazoo cards. I did. It's not a big deal to me if that's a total loss, but it may be to others. I don't know what they spent or how much it matters to them.

I appreciate your input. Valid points. Whatever the group wants to do, I'm in.
