Seattle just fired its coach. Dubas cut his ahl coach, and Toronto might turn upside down if it loses tomorrow night.
Biggest questions -What does the rising cap mean? -Who wins the Celebrini lottery? -How long are the Hawks going to surround Bedard with kids and clunkers? -How do the Penguins, Capitals, Bruins, Lightning, and Kings squeeze juice out of their aging cores? -Where does Stammer go? -Who wins the goalie carousel? -Who wins the coaching carousel? -Is this the end of the core four leafs? -Where do Kane and Toews end up? -What does Vegas do? -Draisaitl/McDavid/Marner extensions -How much time do the yzerplan and shanaplans have left -Who are the chases in extended series and series 1 24-25 -Does Utah make a splash -Retirement watch -HOF watch -Next jerseys to be retired-Keith? |

-Who wins the Celebrini lottery? Think he ends up on the West Coast, but I wouldn't put it past the conspiracy theorists to have him end in Chicago.
-How do the Penguins, Capitals, Bruins, Lightning, and Kings squeeze juice out of their aging cores? Crosby will retire a Penguin, maybe at a discount. Ovi has two more years in him, needs to break Gretzky's record and play in the Olympics. -Where does Stammer go? Stays at a discount OR he goes to the Rangers. -Who wins the coaching carousel? Not the Sabres, ha ha -Is this the end of the core four leafs? If they lose 4-1 or even 4-2 to Boston, yes. -Where do Kane and Toews end up? I would like to see Kane play in Buffalo, Toews I think retires.

Also, Toews is done playing. He may not "retire" if he doesn't want to give up hope, but he physically can't play. He tries and his body quits. It's sad, but he's done. |

He's got his hands full with the much softer than he was core 4.
Could be interesting times ahead, especially if he refuses to walk back anything he says. I wish him luck.

"How low does Bedards YG go?" Seems to be the most popular offseason question on these boards |

As a lifelong flyers fan I feel sorry for him to be coming to that current team.

Marchand’s really the only older player in the Bruins core. The only other guy that would be fringe core in Charlie Coyle at 32. Pasta is 27 McAvoy is 26 Swayman is 25 Poitras, Beecher and Lohrei should improve. Bruins have plenty of cap space and Ullmark as a trade asset. They should be a good team again next season. |

Lightning gets McDonagh back. Love that the entire NHL offseason basically gets done in in the weeks between the middle of the playoffs and NFL training camp report day. Spares the fans the 6 months of nonsense the other sports do.

If I'm Mike Grier, I'd be on the phone with Jonathan Toews.
"Hey, if Celebrini signs, I want you here for his first year or two...if you're interested in a no pressure experience."

Rumours that Don Wadell could be out in Carolina which would shake up that roster. They have a ton of talent and a lot of free agents and being in a division with Crosby/Ovi and the Rangers-3 of the more marketable parts of the hobby plus the Islanders and Philly that sell well there could be some interesting waves from that.

I think the Bruins really busted on the Ullmark return. Senators could be really good next year.
ESPN said last night this was the longest NHL regular season in history. The trade deadline was really boring because of the cap, I'm expecting a bonanza the next week. Teams I'm watching Leafs-time to ship out Marner Oilers-the gm holland contract is up-they need to get McDavid the pieces Penguins-Crosby's last stand Wings/Sabres/Rangers-Times up on the rebuilds, Ottawa already added Ullmark, need to go all in. Stars-Until further notice they are my clear pick for 2025 cup. Utah-insane amount of picks and cap space. Players to watch Marner-In 5 days he controls his destiny, I don't think Treliving wants to relive the tkachuk thing Toews-The chicago writers seemed to indicate he's set to retire Guentzel/Rinehart-going to make bank, where Stamkos-Is he back |

Tremendous deal for Ottawa tbh. Cant imagine Ullmark would waive to go there if he didnt at least entertain the idea of signing long term. It's also a 'prove it' year for him and he should be highly motivated.
They got rid of the worst goalie in the league and his awful contract, a late 1st that may or may not ever play, and a plug 4th liner for last years Vezina winner. Really needs to nail the rumoured Chychrun deal but so far, so good. |

I'll be looking to see what trade Conroy can potentially pull to package the 28th + in hopes of moving up. Calgary is in full rebuild so I'd like to see them get a 2nd pick inside the top 20. Best case if they get rid of Huberdeau for a case of Molsons.

The Senators are going to break out soon, like Buffalo just too much talent accumulating to not have some impact in the coming seasons. Pinto in particular could raise some eyebrows if he can get through a full season healthy. And I think Brady Tkachuk still has a next level in him, just needs the line mates necessary to achieve his best.

Sharks got a decent defenseman and a 2nd round pick from the RW for free, huh.
