That's my plan this year. I spent way too much last year on Jumbo boxes then still had to buy cards just to complete the base set then buy the inserts I wanted as singles. Much cheaper to just buy the full set when it comes out in July and buy the inserts I want as singles.

Ripping and putting together sets with my father is something we both really enjoy doing together. When my set is complete I just throw it in the closet and basically forget about it so it's really about the time spent and fun had putting the set together more than it is about the cards.

I was going to get a couple of hobby boxes instead of a jumbo for the extra 80 cards, but man, those went out of stock quickly. I went with one jumbo after all. Good luck on your pulls, fellow preordererererers.

You'd have to think that Langford, Chourio and Merrill should be in this set along with Topps Chrome. All the April and May call ups should be in Update.

Maybe, but wouldn't they be advertising those guys up front? Jordan Walker and Volpe were in the promotional images for Series 2 last year. Without the opening day guys they'll have Yamamoto, Imanaga, Lawler, Wynn, PCA and a handful of other rookies with 2023 debuts that didn't have base cards in series 1.

Both hobby and jumbo are still available on the Topps website.

Hmm, well, it wasn't letting me get one when I first tried, and I checked an hour later it still said hobby boxes were out of stock.

This year's rookie class is not going to be much of a draw given the extent to which they are struggling.

And most of the hot young players from the last few years are also struggling to make an impact.....Robert, Vlad Jr., Bichette, Alonso, Yordan Alvarez, JRod, Carroll, Volpe, Jordan Walker, etc.

Right now, the only young players who are meeting expectations are Ohtani, Soto, Witt Jr. and Elly.
