As right as you are, even Topps has began disgracing its own product. The checklist has a section for "PAPER PROSPECTS" and has been that way for a while I believe. So it's now a technically correct term.

I wish people would stop using "true gem", "min gem", etc. for BGS slabs cuz those aren't real terms. Just some made up bs.

I took a little ride that was under contruction in 2021 ( I was looking ahead to ST 2022) - Jordan Walker, Anthony Volpe and when Spring Training came, oh nelly. Good times.

I believe what is the first Yamamoto Bowman Chrome auto just popped up on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/204776217084. Any guesses as to what this might fetch?

I always give it at least 7-10 days after release to start buying guys. Stuff that is 2-$300 out the gate will be 150-175.

I've read the previous three pages and I'm not seeing all these negative posts you're talking about. Someone mentioning the previous top prospects flaming out is pretty low on the scale of toxic commenting.

This. Add in the increased print run leading to less numbered cards/box, less desirable parallels (waves/shimmers/lunars, loss of Atomic), poor quality of the cards for grading. Then look at the prices of the top guys at release a year later.

I have seen a few box breaks by some of the breakers featured in Big League but I have not seen any multiple box or case breaks yet and it is the day before release. Did Topps/Fanatics actually get something right or am I not in the right channels?

My take is there are a fair amount of older folks here who can’t handle the new reality of card collecting and bitch and moan almost constantly, at literally every new product announcement, while reminiscing about the 80’s. You pay to play or you don’t, it’s an individual choice and while ROI and estimated returns/value are certainly lower, most fail to account for much higher quality products, bounties, etc. etc. This kind of nonsense doesn’t happen over on the Reddit boards or FB groups etc. where the vibe is currently far more positive.

It's not some Bowman issue. It's an overall issue with these forums. So much negativity, so much whining, so much complaining, so much entitlement.

And regarding Bowman - if the case/box prices are too high, why on earth can't people wait for prices to drop? Because the box prices isn't the issue. People need something to b*tch about - it's like a drug for some here.
