To help with the book work, I listed a Chani base for $320 plus $6 shipping last night.

Earlier I got an offer of $290.

I countered and sold on eBay for $315 plus the shipping.

Just in case these never end up surfacing online anywhere, here are a couple cards that I sold outside of eBay this weekend:

Gurney Blue #7/15
Stilgar Orange #13/20

Wanted to make sure they got added to the spreadsheet.

Looks like box prices are not coming down, wow!
I see 9 single boxes left on the Bay with one lot of 2 boxes?

Thanks! Got it.

Thanks you... I had the Gurney verified, but not the Stilgar. And may I ask if it isn't too personal, how many boxes have you opened? I think I have counted at least 15 parallels attributed to you so far!

Busy weekend! Lots to update...

This weekend marked 2 weeks since the first in-hand boxes and singles first showed up on eBay.

Seeing more red creep into the last sale % change. Probably normal after the initial release hype, but does make me wonder with the set being only 10 base cards- once the collectors who are intent on getting a base set do (being only 10 cards they probably will), the demand could fall for base. Something to consider with such a small set. Then again half still went up, and it’s also anecdotal being the single last sale.

It's only been live a couple weeks. I don't know if they will ever come down given the buy-in cost was so low (meaning people aren't going to lower prices by much since they don't have a lot of money into it), but I wouldn't expect any market correction for a while.

I could see that going both ways, since buy-in was so low, people might have no problem taking a slight discount from the $700 or whatever it is now, and still be making plenty of bank. It’s when people have a ton into it that they don’t want to take a loss or only get a minimal gain.

The /500 is indeed going to keep boxes high though. Singles, especially base, probably not (see last post), unless the pool of dune card collectors widens (it has to be very small compared to say Marvel or SW with long trading card histories and communities). But boxes, yes. This is an interesting experiment in a low-print run set, and I do think it would be fun to see in other brands like marvel and the craziness that would ensue. (nice break from the huge print runs in the tens of thousands boxes)

I was considering busting 1 of my boxes last week but now that we're pushing past 800/box and single prices stabilizing I'm not willing to risk it

Between the two updates, 6 of the base cards had only 1 or 0 sales, 2 had 2, 1 had 3 and 1had 4...

1 1
2 1
3 1
4 0
5 1
6 4
7 2
8 1
9 3
10 2

The two with 3 and 4 were a roller coaster! Here are the last few sales of each...

6 / $74.99 / 05/03/24
6 / $50.00 / 05/04/24
6 / $74.99 / 05/04/24
6 / $46.00 / 05/05/24

9 / $150.00 / 04/30/24
9 / $150.00 / 05/01/24
9 / $125.00 / 05/01/24
9 / $169.00 / 05/01/24
9 / $350.00 / 05/02/24
9 / $224.99 / 05/04/24
9 / $130.00 / 05/04/24
9 / $160.00 / 05/05/24

I have opened 28 boxes, still have a few parallels that I haven’t listed on eBay yet. I’ve pulled two 1/1s of lower end characters and even if you trade those two cards out for two average parallels, I’m still way ahead of my average cost I have into the boxes, and am also a little ahead of what the boxes sell for right now.

I haven’t reached the point yet where I feel like I’m risking anything by opening at current prices. You can lose on an individual box, but when opening multiple at at time I have yet to feel like I’ve lost. I hesitate to say this because I’m still trying to purchase more boxes, but given the fact that 50% expected value is usually considered a great value, this product at these prices still blows that out of the water. When you throw in some huge chase cards, extremely low supply, and the fact that the sealed box itself is a collectible/investment asset, I would imagine these things still have a lot of room to run.

Buy it now listings will almost always sell for more than auctions, so the green/red on the chart is going to depend on which recent sales were buy it now’s and which were auctions. There are periods of time where there aren’t many sales on eBay, but I’ve been able to sell quite a few low-mid tier base cards for strong prices. I have sold two complete sets away from eBay for $1300 and $1500. I’m trying to be careful with selling my Paul’s and Chani’s because I feel like those could be really big cards down the road.

Dang and I thought I was doing work with my 7!

Nice man, awesome analysis. Agree, there is room to run but also there is risk. We're seeing singles pull back which certainly lowers value. About 25% of boxes won't have chani/paul and contain an orange. That's the risk opening. Doing in bulk has its perks

Amazing! Let me know the parallels and serial numbers when you feel comfortable doing that, so I can add them to my 'verified' grid.

I would also add Fyed, and to a lesser extent, Lady Jessica as they are the next biggest sellers after Paul and Chani.

And if you have any images you would like to share, I need the following images to complete the database entry for this set at non-sport.com.

http://www.non-sport.com/sets/15440

#6 Blue
#9 Red
#3 Purple
#8 Purple
#9 Purple
#1 Gold
#2 Gold
#3 Gold
#8 Gold
#9 Gold

Hey gang, getting close to finishing my red foil set. Only missing the Barron and Feyd-Rautha. Haven’t seen either hit the market. If you have them or have leads, I’d sure appreciate it!

Interesting to me that #9 is so high in terms of avg sale. #4 I sort of get being above the rest of the pack, given how few sales there have been - but #9 is tied for the second most sales and doesn't seem to me like an extra popular character or actor. Maybe I'm missing something.

Only thing I can figure is because it is Austin Butler... I guess he is still hot after Elvis.

I suspect you're talking to the person who already inquired about it in that thread

I would love to watch something like that go down.

The print run was higher, but dollar-wise this is similar to the first GPK Sapphire set. Cost at release was $50 and it wasn't long before they were going for $1,000 (biggest regret of my collecting life was opening my box).

Not me. I've finished my base set and that is all I'm going for. My one parallel is a #7 Blue 11/15.

D'oh! Just caught what you said!

Haha yeah, I already inquired on Reddit. Been pretty thorough with searching Twitter and Reddit along with eBay.

Feyd 7/10 was pulled on TharpeCards. He mentioned he would be getting it graded so it could be a bit before it shows on the market.

Feyd 4/10 was pulled by OmegaDad - Could potentially be for sale but he mentions he might try to complete the set.

Hope this helps.
