Yeah, he can't get picked off there but we'll never know what would have happened had he not. Can't just assume Riley still ends up going yard. Not how it works

Imagine if he played as focused/hard as say Albies or Riley? Think of how much WAR he’s left out on the field by turning doubles into singles when he’s thought he’s hit a HR or lollygagging down the line not trying to beat out double plays.

We don't care, we like Acuña.

I do too. It’s odd you don’t seem to care though. But your eBay and IG handle obviously prove youre biased. Why would you want one of your favorite players turning a double into a single or grounding into double plays he could’ve beat out?

Coming into a player thread, right after they hit a game-tying HR, to say "Let’s not forget when he got picked off second base blah blah blah" is just so lame. The hustle issues have been discussed in this thread ad nauseam. Is Ronald perfect? No, but we like him anyway.

Also my IG name is a reference to Venezuelan Topps issues, not Venezuelan baseball players. Venezuelan Topps is my #1 PC focus. Topps cards printed and sold in Venezuela, in the late 50's and 60's. My fav active players are Acuna, Ohtani, Soto, Cedric Mullins, Michael Harris, Mookie Betts, they don't skew Venezuelan.

Not that much. Do you have a recent example of a double turned into a single because he was lollygagging?

less hits... less HR... less RBI...more Ks.... everything else looks pretty close (other that AVG and OBP) but if the temps have been colder that might contribute to the slower start. he didn't light up April last year and still won the MVP. Once the weather warms up... he could get hot.
They had an almost comically bad stretch of weather to open the season in Philly and Chicago. Wet, cold, miserable baseball weather. Hell, they had a game postponed for "rain, snow & a forecast of inclement weather". Not THE factor in his cold start but it didn't help.

Nope because he’s basically hit nothing but singles this season anyway. Barely running down the line to try to beat out a double play though…yes there have been several this year. Reading comprehension is something you may want to try to look into and absorb.

Coming off an injury scare in spring training might be wise to layoff those types of runs so he doesn’t end up injured again. Best to available than to be on IL

Got blown out but nice to see him have a decent night. 1 run, 3 hits, double, stolen base, 0 SO. First game without a strikeout since 4/23.

Finally found a true Gold /50 for his '22 Series 1 Silver Pack

You're acting like it's a regular occurrence that he's ending up with a single instead of a double because he thinks it's a home run. When was the last time it happened?

And since there's apparently been several double plays he's not trying to beat out, can you tell me a specific one so I can look it up and watch the play?

Those couple plays would have resulted in very little change in his WAR.

Decided a few months ago to put this one up for sale and it's up and ending next Thurs (16th):

https://www.pwccmarketplace.com/premier-auction/13322

Grail Acuna RC Logo & I think maybe his best card made period.

I'll refrain from going any deeper into my take on it until the auction ends Hope someone here ends up winning it

I want it. I'm definitely not going to be in the running for it. I don't even have its little brother. I just have its younger cousin from out of town...
