Bobby Witt Jr. had his first card in 2019 BB Franchise Favorite insert set before having his 1st in 2020 Bowman. Luis Matos has cards in 2020 Pro Debut before having his 1st in 2020 Bowman Chrome. Not exactly the same, but kinda.

Why are these case hits? I love the look of this set. According to ripped, you can pull these from Retail? Its the Bowman anime

I know this forum is grumpy boomer central, so these inserts won't be as adored as they should be. I love 'em, and I much prefer them to the watered down lukewarm stuff that is usually inside. Looking at you, "Draft Picks & Prospects" insert.

So when do we see the first live listings? Tomorrow or over the weekend?

lol I thought they were zapping the 2-3 day early shipments this go around?

I personally love the early few days cause I can get rid of the base of the top 1st bowman quickly and at max price.

Is there any value whatsoever to these "display" boxes? Or is it horrible ROI?

Yep, thought they would as well but not sure Topps can do anything about it.

Looks like a retail box. Funny how the title says Display Box vs Retail.

Looks like on average you get 7 paper Vet/RC's, 3 paper prospects and 2 chromes. Assuming the parallels replace the chromes?

-Seven Base Cards, Three Paper Prospect Cards and Two Chrome Prospect Cards Per Pack

-Twelve Cards per Pack

The anime idea has been done before by Panini, but the pairing of a vintage border design with the anime artwork is unique -- I think it helps make it less gimmicky.

BO has posted five of the Anime images: https://www.blowoutcards.com/blog/fi...aseball-cards/

They have a 90s Pokémon animated tv show look to them.

This is what was getting me. At first I was excited for that many Hobby Packs as you would see on the counter at a card store, but if they're just the dud packs of a Blaster it'll be a massive hit to the wallet for a wall of base.

They look ok, the Topps X J-Rod anime art cards look much better imo

Unless I’m mistaken, they are the same as Blaster packs.

Blasters are $30 for 6 packs.
Retail display box is $140 for 24 packs.

Blasters seem like the better deal if odds are the same.

Here are some odds for blaster configs and a sortable checklist if anyone is looking....

Last year, retail packs were WAY better than hobby packs. 24 pack retail boxes were by far the best format for both parallels and autos.

No idea. I was responding to a comment about hobby vs. blaster packs, by pointing out how good retail packs were last year. But Topps changes from release to release.
