With the Dune chrome boxes hitting retail soon (according to Topps retail distributor), how do we think about these holding up?

It should just bring more Dune fans/collectors into the card world, which would then bring more attention to this product. The key with this set is how short printed it is, there will most likely be more cards in just 2 cases of chrome than there are in this entire print run. A cheaper product for the masses should only help the value of an ultra rare product like this. I could be wrong, I just think the limited 500 box number puts this stuff in a different realm right now.

I think the big drawing point with Chrome will be who they are able to get to sign.

Typically I would say a new product takes money out of a previous release but not so sure that is the case here.
There is one thread about this in r/Dune and it has very little interest in this. Maybe a big Chrome release helps bring more eyes on it but I tend to think it will be more speculator interest driving value then actual Dune collectors. We all know who is going to buy all the Chrome. It's not going to be any actual Dune collectors or very few. They don't stand a chance against the seasoned sports collectors jumping in when they see potential profit which is rare these days. |

In hindsight, I’m surprised they didn’t offer the Dune /500 set to Montgomery collectors first. It’s nice that so many of us were able to get boxes after set announcement was posted in this thread.

Use of average in an up market makes the prices artificially lower. In cards isn’t “most recent price” the one to follow?

Would you be able to add most recent sale as an additional column? Would be interesting to see percent fluctuation from average and last sale.

As of this morning...
![]() Interesting fact... one eBay seller has listed/sold 15 parallels (including 2 of the 4 Gold)! That is 17.86% of the total parallels I've verified so far. Last edited by lcummins; 05-02-2024 at 09:57 AM. |

My recent COMC submission started posting last night so hopefully my DUNE stuff loads in next day or two there. I’m going to list and then slab if they don’t sell after X days.

I've been using 130point.com which shows the accepted offer price... or at least it does on most items that the seller accepted an offer on. It shows the last Chani as a Fixed Price selling at $299.99.

Has anyone else with these cards listed on eBay been hassled by user "treeclub"? He has been messaging me repeatedly urging me to hike the price on my Chani blue /15, presumably in an effort to enhance the value of the Paul blue /15 he has listed. Grammar and logic are firmly grade school territory.
