Will Topps Salvage the Zerocool Dune set?

Seems like the bases are selling very strong and quickly but not the parallels

Two boxes just sold for $600 apiece. This is wild. I figured these would be in high demand due to how scarce this set is, but wow. I wonder how high these boxes can go. I can’t picture these getting to $1k a box when there’s only 4 cards. I could be wrong though

I bought a box for $599 From Blowout this morning, I wanted a second to have 2 sealed.

After I bought it, Blowout relisted another for $699.

It might be flawed logic, but I figured 2 for $652 combined was $326 apiece....

Adding the $699 one would make it an average of $450 apiece...I'm debating it.

The big advantage to these is also the size...these take up literally no space. Something to consider.

Edit: I bought one for the $699, so, into 3 for $450 each...will take up no space, and I'm a fan of the films...so, I'm good.

Yeah, but you've got to account for all parties that would have interest. You've got movie/franchise fans, non sports collectors, investors/flippers, people who may have a collection focus on rare sealed boxes, etc.

Heck, with how it was announced with about 1 hour notice, and that nearly no one knew about it, there's probably a lot of people just finding out this exists.

Looks like lowest BIN is 850? Wow.
Going to be interesting to see where the 1 box that's at auction ends tonight

Definitely seems like a bunch of people are trying to complete the base /150 set. Prices are increasing on singles which of course are helping sealed box prices.

It ended at $731! Eight minutes later a BIN went for $679 and 18 minutes after that, a BIN went for $748! So it looks like we are over $700 now. And several high end parallels sold today as well. And I finished my set! Including the one box I got from Topps, my set cost me less than $800… I thought I paid too much at first, but now I’m thinking I didn’t do too bad. Well over half of that was for cards 1, 2 & 9 which seem to not show up as much as the others.

Rabban 1/1 just hit eBay. 3/10 1/1s have hit eBay so far. Makes me wonder how many boxes have been ripped without being posted online.

Hey guys, so I’ve completed the base card set and have set an ambitious goal of completing a red foil /10 set. So far I am responsible for most of the eBay red purchases. I have the red Paul, Chani, Lady Jessica, and Irulan. If any of you have leads on the other reds, please let me know! I can't deny the prices these are going for, but this thread is starting to feel like others during the pandemic. I'm sure these will level out in time, but in no way at all can I see these maintaining such high prices. Yes, people will continue listing high, but eventually there will be no more buyers. How quickly that happens is the question. Nabzy made a good point - many people are probably still just finding out these exist.

I can’t see these increasing in price anymore. I’m guessing they stay in the $650-750 range for awhile. If I’m wrong and these do increase to $1k, I’m selling my boxes. Haha

Was offered $650 cash for my box. I just don’t want to sell and prices skyrocket over $1k. Told myself I’d hold longer, but idk if I can turn that down haha.

I love the short print of this. Even though they will surely make a mass produced set

I don’t think it will hurt the value unless they duplicate the same cards. Which zerocrap I mean cool did with stranger things NSCC promo and then they put same cards with different backs in blasters.

I hope topps makes more products like this. Extremely rare ….

Agreed to some extent it’s got a bit of that feel but the quantities are sooooo much less. I remember with p2020 the “low prints” were like 1500 each in count and this whole release is 2000 total cards So it doesn’t take a huge number of people to dwindle that down

I have graded with PSA a bunch of times, but never with a product as NEW new as this.

It does not appear as though this set has populated to their database yet. Is it okay to go ahead and submit for grading and just enter the set info yourself? Or better to wait until the database can find the set? I at least want to get my blue Chani graded as I can't find a flaw and it is just a gorgeous card.
