Looks like they have finally stopped selling 20%+ discounted gift cards. First Costco, then BJs, and last Sam’s.

Just got my shipping cost refunded for my one hobby box, out of the blue. Anyone else? Wondering if I will see a full refund next, or they decided to make shipping free.

I believe it is because they do not want any shipments getting to buyers before the release date by the purchase of a faster shipping service. So all shipping is free but uses economy shipping. Whenever I made pre-sale purchases with overnight shipping, I would always have to get a refund for the shipping cost because Topps always shipped ground UPS (economy). They did not want me to get the product early. They are just reimbursing shipping costs now instead after delivery.

The last 3-4 Bowman releases have had boxes in hand 2-3 days before release. Even with ground shipping that will be the case here.

I have a question because I don’t recall anyone in this scenario recently but maybe there has been. Ben Williamson had his first prospect cards in Bowman’s Best last year but he was not in Bowman, Chrome, nor Draft prior to Best in 2023. He is listed as a 1st Bowman guy in all of the break checklists being posted (not by Topps) for this release. Will he have the 1st Bowman logo? Should he?

Yeah, I can’t think of a single instance where someone made their card debut in Best. I guess we will find out in a couple of weeks if Topps considers BB to be a true Bowman product or not.

It happened in Bowman U Football, and the player did NOT have the Bowman 1st designation the following year in Chrome U.

With that said, Chrome U is a little different than Bowman. My hope is that it will still have the 1st Bowman/1st Chrome.

Wow, I was wondering this exact same thing - I didn't know there was anyone else who cared about Williamson. Based on what Topps says here presumably he should have no 1st logos because the '23 Best was his "first official baseball card"? I honestly have no idea.

Can’t recall a situation like this either. I would imagine no “1st” designation because it’s meant be the 1st official baseball card + separated by a year.

Counterpoint to the Williamson situation is that Bowman's Best is considered an entity unto itself. Bowman Inception has it's own '1st' of sorts after all. Perhaps it's not a part of the main Bowman continuity in any way. It's perhaps just "a celebration of prospects from the year past".
