I'm not actually talking about me. I rarely drink. I might have a drink less than 5 days a year. You think I would drink constantly. That is why they serve alcohol at Chucky Cheese, dinner shows in tourist trap towns, etc. Kids are just way too much to deal with.

The propane company came out to do their safety inspection that is required to continue service. Our propane tank failed and we will not be able to get propane until the issue is fixed. County code states all propane tanks must be 10 feet away from any possible ignition. It was 10 feet away until the last homeowners decided to have the solar panels installed and they had the solar panel box that runs everything installed between the chimney and the propane tank.

Now I have to pay to the propane tank moved further back. Thankfully we only use propane for the fireplace and outdoor grill so it isn't much of an inconvenience until the work is finished. I'm just mad I have to use money for this expense.

The guy who came out from the gas company to do the safety inspection has to be glen's brother. Same personality.

You do realize this is exactly what home inspectors are for, right?

Hopefully you didn’t pay the guy…

Today was her last day. I went in to the office with her to drop all the company owned equipment off and to clean her personal effects off her desk.

HR asked her to send out an e-mail saying she was leaving, which she did.
She got over 100 e-mails thanking her for all she did for the people she interacted with in the company.

It is a very hard and emotional time for her as this is NOT how she wanted to leave. I think it will get easier as she can do what she wants during the spring and summer on beautiful Cape Cod (A manmade Island for you anal retentive types)

I'm working fully remote next week to be here for her 1st time being unemployed since she was 14.

ALso the company stepped up and is paying FULL COBRA through the end of the year. Almost $20k

The rolled out a new software program and she accused my wife of deleting an attachment. Later it was found out this is an issue and other people have had attachments disappear as well. That was never addressed though.

Bottom line is that this woman is pissed my wife moved departments, just before Covid started. Posted on Facebook about the job she accepted internally and the boss was pissed that she didn't have a chance to keep her.

The replaced my wife in the finance with 2 people who MAYBE do 75% of the work my wife did there.

So now in her new position the CFO (Who was finance manager when my wife worked there) has say in what my wife does.

Wife's new bosses got involved with HR and they told CFO that she couldn't just fire my wife.

So they decided to design a Performance Improvement Plan.
No I have had to implement PIP's on people before.
You show the employee where they are lacking. Give them goals and metrics to measure the goals and they pass or fail. I have never had an employee fail a PIP.

The thing is that there are no metrics or goals because it was software more than employee. The CFO has to sign off on the PIP, not wife's new boss which is total BS.

Wife turns 60 on Sunday and we had planned for her to retire or go part time at 62.

HR, knowing that the CFO is wrong, and seeing the incredible mental toll this is taking on my wife offered her a voluntary separation. Generous severance, FULL Cobra payments for the insurance for the timeframe of the severance and the ability to collect unemployment. All this is basically so that she doesn't sue them

THe thing is my wife believes that if she takes this she is a failure. I told her that the CFO can bink her at anytime and she will only get 2 weeks severance. My wife has been working since she was 14 so she deserves a break.

She is about a week away from a nervous breakdown and the CFO better pray to whatever higher power she believes in that she never sees me in the super market because the dressing down I will give her will make her cry, piss and crap at the same time.

She needs to make a decision and I hope she takes the deal. Physical and mental health is worth much more than money.

This was mandated by the propane company in order to receive service and was free. I asked him about why it was caught during the home inspection and he said it's not something they normally look at since they would have to know every code for every state and county they did inspections in.

I feel important, the lead singer of the band A Thousand Horses stopped to talk with me when I was downtown doing set up. Their song Smoke was a #1 hit about a decade ago. They are in town playing a show at our opera house. He was a year behind me in high school, I played football with his brother. I had a few people come up after that asking how I know him because "he's famous". I just laughed

Stopped by a brewery on the way home to discover they recently closed. So we are now at a different one.

The one you are at now will probably soon suffer a similar fate as others witness its clientele and decide to go elsewhere.

We were in South Minneapolis.

We had been in Bloomington, which is now famous for the SD getting booted out of it.
