Not a surprise, considering the amount of Bedard content in that product.

Glad I locked in multiple cases at 115ish, that seems like a deal too good to be true.

seems to be about 145/box for a case now or 150 single boxes

tempted to order a case before it goes up more

Everything that is usually in the extended releases is confirmed. Look at the options from 22-23 extended and there are likely 8-10 other rc’s besides the canvas.

If S2 Hobby remains at $320+, Extended at $150 seems like a no-brainer.

Which is why Extended will be $200 before long.

$200 pre-sale is a little nuts (relatively). Anyone remember what the S2 Hobby presale was 3-4 months before it dropped?

I wonder what the price will be when Ext actually drops. Over/under $225.

This is probably a dumb question but will any of the parallels from S2 carry over to extended? For example will there be a chance at a Cooley canvas or Bedard outburst in extended?

No to both questions, well not in the past.

I know the rush to Bedard is over, but breaks have almost stopped, meaning individual. That is the negative of out of hand hobby prices, $300 plus USD and the retail providers jacking up the prices for products that usually sit on shelves. I understand the dynamics of trying to make money in the short term, but did they sacrifice long term gains because next year is not likely to see the Bedard effect.

Upper Deck WAS the entry point for many collectors/rippers but that was at normal prices. You have to believe most will be priced out of multi-pack boxes.

At current prices, which are relatively in the same ball park, if you HAD to purchase one:

Would you grab a Bedard Young Guns PSA 10 or a Bedard Young Guns Outburst PSA 9?

I kinda like the Outbursts more, but that's just my personal preference...

Outburst 9, with such high assumed pops for regular young guns I would much rather go with something rarer. Especially given the fine line between 9s and 10s, could try re-submitting if it was a big deal and hope for a 10

Outburst 9 all the way.
There will be thousands of PSA 10 YGs before long.

Outburst 9 for sure and if you are just holding it for your collection, that one will be great. You cannot think there are more than 5.000 outburst, maybe less. The pop count on thise will be much higher on the 9’s than the 10’s.

If for value/long-term potential: Outburst 9 and the ONLY reason why it's EVEN A HESITATION is I don't know what the provenance will look like in 10 years. If Outbursts are here for two releases and then they switch to "Inbursts" or "DiamondIce" or some other parallel... then the outburst may get a shoulder shrug more than the (unknown but relative) scarcity would typically value it.

As everyone has said, there are going to be a LOT of YGs to go around. This is like the refractor/base discussion in other areas. Sure - base Prizm PSA 10 Doncic is nice... but you'd rather have the silver/refractor in a 9.

As for looks/personal keeping ignoring value? I am in the outburst camp as well. You miss a little of the "roar of the crowd" (or yawning?) in the base, but the outbursts look really sweet, IMO.

I don’t own either, but which would you prefer:
Outburst Silver PSA 9 or BLACK Dazzler PSA 9?
There cannot be more than 1,000 blacks.

Outburst. Both will have unknown but estimated printed volumes. And long term they'll be "similar enough" that money will flow to the Young Gun (parallel in this case, admittedly) and not the insert, I think.

Adding: Bedard is going to have a billion "rookie year" inserts that are varying degrees of cool/good looking. Some like dazzlers - I do - but there's just going to be an incredible amount of options.

I just can't imagine a world where Bedard is still a big thing 10 years from now and someone says "well, that Young Gun is nice... but I'll take this insert..." (when the insert and YG in question have "similar" PRs)
