My favorite part of every Bowman release is the people that are stunned at Fanatics pricing. If you are waiting for prices to go back to 2019 levels, it's not going to happen in your lifetime.

Cannot really blame them. Plenty of people seem to be happy throwing money away.

Geez. This pricing is nuts. Not for me. I'll stick to singles.

Re; What Craptastics is asking for this....

EDIT: But have no fears; Craptastics will have it reflect as being "fake",...SOLD OUT,...soon, enough.

I'm fully cognizant of how business works. Fundementally speaking, bottom-line...dollars & cents is/are the primary points of concern. But when a business' ONLY concern is (for all intents & purposes) STUFFING THEIR FAT POCKETS TO MAKE 'EM FATTER, well then,... Houston: we have a problem! And that's clearly where the Powers-That-Be,...within the upper echelons of Craptastics & Poopnini, have managed to take our beloved hobby,...over the course of the last 4-5 years!! They (literally!!) don't give ONE....SHART....what you or I or anyone else,...thinks, opines, suggests, complains about, etc. Just; arbitrarily RAISE PRICES,...CUT, QUALITY, and put whatever bag of DOG CRAP, out,...that they can...as quick as they can; wash, rinse, repeat!

Time to switch from the over produced and over priced new stuff to some vintage stuff. No more dollars for Topps or their dealers.

So either Retail is going to get nerfed, or it will look like the best format by a mile...

Do you know what the rough estimate of getting autos out of a case of blasters in years past is? Maybe 4 or 5 tops?

I'm pretty sure it was close to 6-8. I can't remember in all honesty though.

I think you are right, 3-5 seems to be the approx. range.

not that high.

I opened 3 cases.
1 had 3
1 had 4
1 had 5

I also opened a half case from eBay and got none. I think the seller was a bit shady though

$260/$500 is pretty reasonable.

$260 only to pull one scrub who's gonna be flipping burgers at McDs in 5 years whose on a $5/card auto deal with FanTopps.

Incredible business model. Basically printing money

It’s crazy to think that because it didn’t sell out in 1 min. That they are loosing money.

Last year topps baseball revenue was equal to both panini nfl and nba revenue combined.

For $260, you can probably just buy several of the cards you want and still have money left over. Or buy the one auto prospect card you want and buy a few blasters. Anyway, that's what I am hoping that I can stick to doing.

Useless math...

$30 for a blaster, 72 cards = ~$0.42 / card
$270 shipped for a hobby box, 240 cards = ~$1.13 / card PLUS an auto

If hobby valued base the same as blasters, hobby would cost ~$100.80. In conclusion (for me, personally) the auto included in the hobby box would have to have a value of ~$170 for it to be worth it.

Otherwise, just buy 9 blasters and if you run into an auto, that would just be a cherry on top. If not, you have 408 additional cards as a consolation prize.

You are basing your math just on base cards and the auto. You aren't computing the parallels you can receive in a hobby box that are not available in retail. Granted there is still an off-set in pricing between the two.

I mean the value per box on parallels/inserts in hobby vs. retail is almost impossible to calculate. You don't know what you're going to get any SKU regardless of odds and, on top of that, who knows what the secondary market value will be?

Still, the parallels/inserts out of 9 blasters compared to 1 hobby........

For each 2023 Bowman release I took the price of a Hobby Box and bought singles with only that budget. It's incredible how good you can do by being savvy with Auctions and knowing the players. I made a Hobby Box look like a joke with my returns.

Retail is always the way to go for cheapest base/inserts. Hobby skus are a lotto ticket at a big hit.

Its also not impossible to open nine blasters and not hit a single numbered card.
