Looks like Gleyber is OK.

Quote:
Gleyber Torres had an X-ray on his thumb. It was negative. He was concerned about being able to grip the ball, which is why he pulled himself from the game.

2-0! Have been watching baseball 30 years and this is the first time I’ve ever found myself rooting for them to do something good.

Good morning guys. I am enjoying the way this lineup is working at bats and battling. Even strikeouts can be productive outs if you make the pitcher work for it. Rodon impressed me not so much with his getting into jams but the way he worked out of them. I was expecting him to crack at any moment but he pitched his best when most needed. Hello to the member who said I was this threads awz50 it doesn’t have to be that way fans can join in at any time. With the game being on apple last night I thought letting people know what was going on was a good thing. I will keep doing games like that as it keeps me more involved in the game and more knowledgeable about what’s going on. Haven’t looked yet who is today’s starting pitcher, FT thanks for the news on Gleyber glad it’s nothing serious and only day to day. The only bad thing so far is that Judge isn’t hitting yet but I will take him being in a slump as long as they are winning, because it will be like adding another bat when he snaps out of it. At least the additions of Verdugo and Soto are working as expected and it looks like this could be a fun season. Be back later enjoy the day.

So Marcus Stroman against Hunter Brown tonight, I like the Yankees chances.

Last night’s game made me happy. Yanks didn’t win a lot of those type games last year. Last year if Judge and Gleyber didn’t produce, it was pretty much in the loss column. Juan Soto just makes a massive difference obviously. Dude is a hitting and on base machine. Plus, Volpe would have been 0-4 in that game last year with three K’s and a fly ball out. He’s adjusting and finding ways to get on base. I love the Yankees putting pressure on with good base running. The Wells bunt created chaos! Keep applying pressure. Do the ”little things”. It wins games. Lastly, cap tip to O in the 9th slot. Way to have a night! Bottom of the order stays scrappy and the Yanks are in business!

Rodon still can’t find it. I applaud the grit but boy was he laboring. Just cannot locate consistently. Gotta be better. Or the bullpen turns to pulp later this year.

Early road wins (especially in Houston) are mother’s milk. Keep ‘em coming!

Good observations and I like the way they are grinding out at bats, reminds me of Yankee lineups of the past. As long as they don’t strike out that much they should be good to go.

Welcome aboard. There's always room on the Yankees express. I can't wait until Cole gets back and then Dominguez.

I can only imaging how many runs these guys would be scoring if Judge and Stanton were having a good year already. Besides them too, my concern is that Rodon and Cortes need to have some more 1-2-3 innings to go longer in the game to relieve the pressure on Boone over using the bullpen.

I'm also waiting for Cabrera to come down to earth. He's not going to continue hitting .750; although it was against two good pitchers.

Yup. The championship Yankees teams and even through about 2010 weren't afraid to run the count to 3-2 and foul off a lot of pitches. They didn't have ego and allowed them to take walks. If these guys continue this, they are going to get into a lot of bullpens early and those pens are going to be worn out over the season.

Manfred will probably be mad because those games will go longer too, but that's just an added bonus.

Without Gerrit Cole, Yankees must come out swinging

Thanks for the thoughtful greeting. The thing I would kindly ask you and fulltritty to think about is to maybe keep your updates a little more limited. There are many conversations going on in each and every thread here on Blowout, but once a single thread is dominated by 20 or 30 or 40 consecutive comments from the same user, the whole technology of the thread sort of breaks down and overshadows and almost erases all these other ongoing conversations. Please consider that. Maybe inning by inning updates instead of batter by batter or pitch by pitch. Do whatever you want, and keep rooting hard, and ENJOY, but please consider how these threads work and that there are many others on here with different thoughts and interests.

I don't have any cards of his because according to Beckett, he has zero Yankees cards.

I'm surprised they didn't make another Soto card from last night. A Cabrera card would have been nice.

That's not how all of us feel, so you shouldn't talk for all Yankees fans in here.

To be fair it’s in a Dodgers uniform.

I am sorry you feel that way but there is plenty of time to interact between our posts, if you have something to post post it and it will show up just like in any other thread. In fact if more people did post maybe the game wouldn’t be dominated by play by play. If you notice when people comment on the game I will reply to those comments. I appreciate the worry over the thread but I am going to keep posting the same way. More participation will lead to less play by play. Nobody was complaining when their feed stopped but they were still able to know what was going on.

Absolutely wild.

Could make for an interesting poll though, I'll give it some thought.

That’s not how we talk to The Broadcaster around here.

Respect the man’s work.
