In my opinion, the solution is all about service level pricing and corresponding turnaround times. I’d love a chance to get some low end cards graded—set that price at $10-12 for “under $100” cards and make the turnaround time longer for those orders.

Right now, they are currently beating some estimated turnaround times on bulk orders by over a month. Keep those $10-12 low-end cards out of the fast lane and you’ve got something.

They are at capacity and if they need more cards, they just have $15 specials. There is 0 reason for them to be at $10 to $12. If they did that, be prepared for another backlog catastrophe. Beating turnaround times is great, but PSA doesn't have an issue getting 1.2 million cards a month.

For those that care, you still get the Loupe credit.

That is the balance that they need to keep. They are still getting 1.2 million a month done. I agree if they suddenly go too low, they will get a warehouse full of cards again. That was the window for SGC to gain ground (guess that may not be an issue now, lol). If PSA wants to do more than 1.2 million, the next logical step would be to convert SGC's office for PSA. Maybe then they could do a lower dollar special.

I am even using PSA again with their $15 60/70's special. Will be sending out a second order very soon once my rushed order comes back from COMC. They were one day late, so I got a $5 credit.

I must be one of the few people with orders all out to PSA/CGC/SGC at the same time. Each of them is useful for my PC.

So I didn't get any email about this, is it because my membership lapsed in January? Is there a link to renew at $99 in this email? If you click on the website all I see are $149 and $199 options witha $120 loupe credit.....

Does anyone use the loupe credit? I looked it up but it was so confusing and it seemed like I had to spend money just to use the credit

I asked the same question because although it states that it starts April 20th, all I see are the $149 and $199 membership options as well. I'm not seeing any other price option, even though it's March and supposedly before the rate hike.

I used it, bought a box of 22 Topps Heritage minors and 22-23 Revolution. The seller did not ship the Revolution box, just the cards from the break (I never actually saw the break but I think if I had looked into it I could have).

I liked it, the one thing I didn't like was that they drip the credit out in $20 increments but overall there seem to be some decent dealers on the platform.

You have to pay the taxes when you buy into a break.

The ultra-modern TCG boom is over -- the manufacturers flooded the market. You're going to be seeing declines in submissions.

482,479 TCG total graded last 30 days vs 690,200 for February

Leaving bulk at $19…yes…”Special BULK Pricing” @ $19/card…SMH…AND raising the member price to even get that pricing is a major let down. They are following the Beckett model of keeping prices high for those willing to pay it. That eventually cost BGS their customer base. People left that model for PSA’s $10-12/card. That same base will follow that price point somewhere else. Their show pricing is also outrageous. It won’t happen overnight—it will be a slow fade.
Good luck with that. Collectors Holdings acquired SGC, which was starting to be a viable alternative.

Thanks. I appreciate the other guy's input too but I just logged onto the app today and am still so confused. Don't see how I can utilize the credit even though I was e-mailed I have it. Plus all I saw was "breaks" with a minimum buy in price of $99. Unless I'm the confused one, the only way I'd consider it is if I can group 5 of the $20 loupe credits together and just use it for the $99 for a team in a break. If that's possible, lord knows I'll have to figure out how to do that lol. If it's not, well I'm not paying $80 for a team break w/ just a $20 off voucher. So, seems like I just won't use it.

They pay the $20 credit out one month at a time. So I guess you can bundle it together if you wait, lol. I have $60 currently. I'll log in in 3 months and see what I can get for $120. I NEVER buy in to breaks so I'm not exactly itching to use it. Not a bad system for someone like me.

Agree, I hate breaks and the last time I got all the credit and bought a box. This $20 a month is some BS…

Not yet.

Japanese sets are more popular/readily available now and English sets are still selling fast and hard. Unlike sports, every release has the same level of gradeability, so you are on a constant churn of new sets between English and Japanese almost monthly now.

February was still on the tail end of 151, which was a massive release. I don't expect to see any major drops in grading.

TCG will continue to remain a significant percentage of the grading market.

And that's just Pokémon, I'm finding one piece and lorcana to be very gradeable as well.

Agreed, smaller scale for sure - but TCG grading is going to remain at least, at a constant baseline for a while.

Haven't graded in over a year, but now will have to since I got some bangers. I need to do it before the tax deadline.

Does anyone know if PSA is still accepting 8x10 photo submissions?

See 2018 press release below. I assume that they are?

100% Agree with this.
Maybe many weren't around back in the days but this is for sure what happened.
BGS was still charging like $20-$25 for grading While PSA had $10 bulk grading and i think they even ran specials for like $8 or $9. After a while it just flipped and the masses left BGS for PSA.
Many dont remember there was a time for many years that BGS outsold PSA and was the #1 king in grading.
That can and will happen again.
Things always change, Its just a matter of when.

SGC was actually starting to accomplish this whether people wanna believe it or not. Fast turnaround times and cheap grading and a much nicer case in my opinion. But as soon as they started edging closer and closer to PSA then BAM! Bought out by their competitor...

Just wanted to post an observation that my last two bulk orders shipped from New Jersey. I am located in socal.

The gem rate has been worse than what I usually achieve from the Newport Beach office. It feels like they're backing into the number of 10s given, but it could just be limited sample size or my saltiness.
