Ozuna getting the start at 1st to kick off ST games. Evan Phillips starting DH. Money Mike also batting leadoff

Time for all the wild speculation to begin

I'm guessing he's the NL Cy Young favorite going into the season.

Man I hope he can just be a bit more consistent this year. If he stays healthy he's definitely got a great chance.

For someone whose spot in the rotation is in jeopardy, Elder did not get off to a good start

I would be fine with AJSS. I think Reynaldo Lopez will end up getting the spot

I think today's ST lineup is going to be a preview of the regular season lineup. Harris 6th, catcher 7th, Kelenic 8th, Arcia 9th.

Still not sold on Ozzie 2nd but I hope he can produce if he does end up there. Doesn't have a good track record AND doesn't help Acuna on the bases.

I think the same thing. But Snit is stubborn.

Ronald still stole plenty of bases with Ozzie hitting second.

His track record hitting second is solid, if not spectacular. He's got a .284 average there which is right in the middle for how he's done in other spots in the lineup. Leadoff is where they need to avoid him as well as clean-up as he's been much worse in those spots. He definitely doesn't add much in terms of base stealing. He's performed better farther back in the lineup, but there are weaker bats that likely need to be stashed in the 7,8, and 9 spots. Arcia and the catcher spot will have two of those locked down I'd imagine. I'm not sure where else he fits really.

Sale 2 innings 4 strikeouts. Topped out at 97.1 on his fastball.

Owen Murphy got knocked around.

His average is fine. When we are talking about not being sold on Ozzie hitting second, it's that he's not what you normally want in that position. He's very aggressive at the plate, which usually isn't what you want from a 2 hole hitter, especially when you have one of the top base stealers in the game leading off. Normally, you want someone who will work a count, that's not Ozzie. And maybe it's just my imagination, but Ozzie hits more than his fair share of weak pop ups and ground balls to the right side of the field, often on the first pitch of the at bat. That's where we want to see more productivity from him.

It's also the fact that I'd rather have Olson and Riley get potentially more ABs than Ozzie. I prefer Ozzie at 5 or 6 but that's just my opinion. I'd also love to see him hit RH full time but I doubt that will happen.

Bryce Elder got knocked around again. I think the first half luck is gone. And it's difficult for someone that pitches to contact to stick around if they can't get weak contact.

Reynaldo Lopez had a solid start today. I do expect him to be named the 5th starter

AJSS optioned today. Should mean it's between Lopez and Elder for the final spot

Adam Duvall signed to a one year deal. Reports are that he will be platooning with Kelenic.

Super cheap deal and gives the team a solid player that can play all three outfield spots.

Plus Stone and Blooper are reunited

I think that's a good move especially to take some pressure off Kelenic.

Sale has looked pretty solid so far.

I still think Kelenic is going to get going at some point. Not concerned about spring training.

I do too, but that still doesn't change the fact that that they signed Duvall and told Kelenic that they will be platooning.

I think we touched on this when the trade happened, but Kelenic's L/R splits don't really support a platoon. His OPS vs Lefties was 36pts higher than vs Righties.

Like the signing of Duvall though.

Looking at Kelenic's career L/R splits, he has a .566 OPS vs lefties and a .696 OPS vs righties.
