He commit suicide. He has absolutely no connection to the US or the MLS. I'd just about be able to understand it if it was a very special Leeds release, or at a stretch, Newcastle. But the MLS??!

As a big MLS collector, this checklist is even worse than I thought it would be.

There are so many active MLS players who should be in this instead of duds like Erik Lopez and Deiber Caicedo and if you can include retired players like Landon Donovan, then why stop with just him?

Clint Dempsey stuff is still in demand and the MLS market would go nuts chasing MLS/USMNT legends like Brian McBride and Eddie Pope who have very few cards. Even fringe USMNT/MLS lifers like Pablo Mastroeni and Kyle Beckerman would do well.

I'll be curious on the eventual floor that the big 3 settle vs sitting on unopened cases for years.

Completely agree. So many retired MLS guys that would be cheap for Topps to sign and preferable to the guys they included.

This is modeled after Topps Dynasty baseball, which I believe is 100% on card so hopefully that's the case here as well since MLS gets so little marketing attention that they forgot to include this detail in the promos.

Plus a true MLS sticker dump would have to include Diego Chara.

Watched the only case break I could find on Youtube today.

Everything was on card, some designs are gorgeous and the current price point is brutal (one box had a Leon Flach and a Brenner auto/napkin mem). There was a sweet Ciefuentes 1/1 with a big MLS logo, a 1/5 mem auto of Kevin Paredes, and 3x Chicharitos as the other 'highlights'.

Would love to break some if the price totally craters.

Agree that cards look really nice, but there are probably under 20 cards in the entire print run that are worth the cost of a single box.

At least I was wrong about the autos being stickers, but Topps completely messed up this checklist. Two of the subsets have a ton of variations that were not previously disclosed, significantly increasing the print run from what expectations were.

Bought 5 boxes in my LCS (while I am waiting for the other 10 boxes including the Phil O'Donnell Auto Cut). Heard the auto cut is 1:360 odds.

Looks like current online pricing is around $175 a box so think these have come down a little.

Maybe your LCS is frequented by hardcore MLS fans who don't know how to use the internet.

BO has already cut this down to $175 per box (or $167 per box if buying by the case) within a few days of release and I'm sure more cuts are on the horizon.

I wanted to rip this really badly when it was first announced but there are way too many Leon Flach & Deiber Caiceido boxes out there that I'm not sure if it'll dip to a point where I'd be comfortable.

And the first couple Cade Cowell's on ebay are selling for waaaay more than he should so my Earthquakes PC might be waiting for a while.

Not a fan of graded cards, but this one had less shithousery in the bidding process than the ungraded. Nice cards, heavy, high quality.

Not only did he NOT play in MLS, but it isn't even like a tribute card or something in good taste. Just chopped up a signed photo.

Nice pickup, yes these are some of the nicest soccer cards made. I have a whole 2 row box full hoping people realize it over time
