40k points! Nice.

Not sure anyone will beat that one or even care to.

If you actually put the team first and try to win games/titles you would sacrifice a lot of those empty stats.

LeBron James' 30,000th point came in a loss to the Spurs in January 2018.

When he passed Michael Jordan for No. 4 on the all-time scoring list in March 2019, it came in a loss to the Nuggets.

When he passed Kobe Bryant for No. 3 in January 2020, it came in a loss to the Sixers.

His 35,000th point came in a loss to the Nets in February 2021.

When he passed Karl Malone for No. 2 in March 2022, it came in a loss to the Wizards.

And when he overtook Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for No. 1 last February, it came in a loss to the Thunder.

Last night, his 40,000th point came in a loss to the Nuggets.

Sweet. Collect those regular season wins.

I'd still take Tim Duncan over LeBron in a redraft.

Longevity is an awesome thing and LeBron is a freak. But pointing to the things some of you guys highlight is just hilarious. That would be like me pointing to LeBron having more turnovers than any other player of all time.

Ah yes, the good old excuses for LeBron are back.

LeBron played with more top level talent than any of the greats. And still managed to not win as much as them. Ba ha.

You guys are hilarious. It must be exhausting having to come up with this crap all the time. Surely you don't actually believe it?

I mean, does LeBron win more titles with Tony Parker and Manu?

I seriously doubt it.

TD made his teammates better as a leader and a team player.

Name a player that Lebron has helped mold into having a HOF caliber career.

I can name quite a few of his teammates he's buried and thrown under the bus. But none he's turned in to anything great.

Quite a few of his teammates have helped him greatly though.

Man I wish TD got to play in the East in the 00s instead of having to face Malone/Stockton, Kobe/Shaq, Dirk etc all through the late 90s and 00s.

Trade LeBron for TD and I would LOVE to see how that pans out for each franchise.

LeBron and the 2007 Spurs vs Duncan and the 2007 Cavs

Would have loved to see the Spurs vs Detroit in the finals

It’s hilarious to see the same three clowns STILL obsessed with Bron after all these years.

I've never understood why lebron guys resort to taking personal shots at people simply because they don't like lebron. Like they're basically useless to society because they don't worship him. I've never seen anyone else's fans resort to that but it happens all the time with lebron fans.

“Simply because they don’t like him” lmao….. youre relating simply having an opinion to thousands and thousands of posts and years of trolling. I know you’re trying to have a gotcha moment but I know you’re more intelligent than this. I mean you have drob telling people ligma and talking about their mom on a card forum. These are the types of people that get and take personal shots.

The Cavs picked three draft picks higher than the spurs in 1999 before the spurs picked ginobili.

The Cavs picked two draft picks higher than the spurs in 2001 before the spurs picked Tony Parker.

So are Lebron fans blaming the Cavs on this one for not drafting well even before anyone knew Lebron would arrive on the team?

Spurs picked those players to complement Duncan and were rewarded as Duncan turned these lower draft picks into hall of famers.

Who did LeGM pick in the draft to help his chances to win a ring?

I was tempted to create a new new thread for this, but we have enough threads on the subject of Bron-ball-busting as it is.

It's a challenge to the Bron-ball-busters to steelman - the opposite of strawman; to state the opposing case in the strongest possible terms before responding to it - the case for LeBron as the GOAT.

You can pick up some leads here:

https://www.youtube.com/results?sear...ames+goat+case

Headlining is the case for Bron from the Crowley series. Then there's the 'Trial of the GOAT' video which is fun in its own right.

But actually what this really should be is ALSO a challenge to those making the case FOR Bron as the GOAT to steelman the case AGAINST Bron as the GOAT.
https://www.youtube.com/results?sear...s+not+the+goat

I for one might start not just with the '11 choke job but the lengthy Shaqtin' reels and then imagine whether a MJ, Russell, Duncan, Magic, Kareem, Larry, or (especially) Kobe would have anywhere near the length of reels in that category. It's a work-ethic thing; Bron started on third base natural-talent-wise, so how much credit does he really deserve in the context of GOAT arguments where work ethic comes into play? The LeBron-GOAT crew should be able to steelman the case that this disqualifies him from being GOAT.

As an exercise in true intellectual integrity and perhaps some real fun, how about hermanoweirdo take the pro-side, providing special emphasis on the 4 Finals MVPs in the context of his era, and the Bron-is-GOAT voters participating in this thread take the con-side, providing special emphasis on the Shaqtin' lowlights, the '11 choke, the flopping reels.

“He who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that. His reasons may be good, and no one may have been able to refute them. But if he is equally unable to refute the reasons on the opposite side, if he does not so much as know what they are, he has no ground for preferring either opinion... Nor is it enough that he should hear the opinions of adversaries from his own teachers, presented as they state them, and accompanied by what they offer as refutations. He must be able to hear them from persons who actually believe them...he must know them in their most plausible and persuasive form.”

just so that this appears at the top of a new page

Also, to add: there's at least one anti-Bron poster here who keeps using the term "excuses" referring to those explaining the 4-6 Finals record for what it is. It shows something of an inability to place oneself within the perspective of those doing the explaining. They are putting that 4-6 record *in context*. It is patently idiotic to hold a 4-6 Finals record against someone without knowing the full context.

Why am I assigned the impossible task of trying to convince everyone Lebron is GOAT?

I concede because it is not feasible.

I know the pro Bron arguments, and it is simply an exercise in futility.
