I've never seen food trucks actually be efficient at serving a large crowd.

Never been to National ever. Me and the wife are making plans for this year to go. What to expect? Should we get vip passes? What are some of the do and don't?

Last year was worse than normal, the first half of the show the AC was barely working, it was quite hot and steamy in the space.
Shows are usually a little smelly, but eh, I still have fun at them.

I have been to a couple, and the first one I went to (Rosemont) was quite overwhelming, but I loved it!

I have always wanted to go to the national but it is so far from me.
If they would have it in my state I would so go. Besides most of the states where they have this are not friendly to people like me. I am not going to put myself in harms way just to go to this. |

If I rent a car will there be adequate parking at the convention center or will I have to walk quite a ways? I ask because I don't want to walk long ways lugging around cards. If it's a long walk I will probably just Uber.

There are large lots all around the convention center. But everyone will be parking there because it's not really a location to walk to. It's not like Chicago where the hotel is right across the street. It's out by the airport by itself. Lots of parking spaces, but lots of cars. And since they are lots, not garages, there might be a long walk from the far end of the lot.

I've been to the National the last three years but have never looked into getting an item signed. I believe I saw that Cal Ripken Jr was going to be at the National this year. I acquired a game ticket for his 3,000 hit game some time back and was thinking it would be neat to get it signed.
What is the normal process? Do I need to buy one of the "packages"? Can I just buy a ticket to get him to sign when I get to the National. I believe people here sell their tickets or something of the sorts. Would that be the best route? Just trying to figure it all out so that I am not spending hours standing in line to buy a ticket and have an item signed when their is a better method.
