I have historically gone thru graders via third party but made a submission of my own this past month to see what the experience is like. Currently have a submission sitting in Assembly checkmarked, but no grade pops. Really hoping for an upcharge email

Had an order that's had the green check by assembly for over a week now but grades not available and haven't been billed. Guess they're hitting a major bottleneck on the backend or something.

I just sent in a photo to get authenticated to their New Jersey location. I had to fill out a hand written form instead of an online submission form. How long does it take for them to enter it in my account after the package gets delivered to them?

Same here. I assumed there were some cards they are upcharging, but haven't recieved an email asking for approval. They usually email within a couple of days.

For those who had their orders escape research & id in under a week, did you have any recent releases (ie. 2023 prizm football/bask or phoenix)?

Just wondering if there's any rhyme or reason to it. I'm considering sending cards more than 3-4 months old in separate subs so they don't get held up.

A couple of my recent orders had some 90s stuff mixed with ultra modern, and they flew through R&ID.

Modern sports special popped this morning at 1:30 AM. Seemed odd. Got thru QA and shipped out this afternoon as well. Should have it in hand on Thursday.

3/26 Gemmed. Rest mainly 9s with a couple 8s sprinkled in (patch cards so expected). Ouch. 12 cards were 1993/1994 so didn't expect a high gem rate but was hoping for at least one Gem in those but came back all 9s.

Hoping for better results with Value Bulk order as those are all from 1980-1992... not getting my hopes up though.

Definitely moving quick now. The cards that I dropped off for Value Bulk at Tri Star Houston on 2/4 already popped. Went right from Assembly to done.

I didn't do great but I didn't really go over the cards that well because I wanted the Strouds graded.

All of them were numbered so not too bad.

I also hit a few 10's on 2013 Ohtanis so happy with those.

Thanks. Nothing crazy high end in this one like yours but a bunch of Elite/Certified numbered.

Just got back a 43 card submission from PSA. Sent it in at the end of January with the drop off submission in Jersey City. All ultra modern.While I appreciate the quickness I got absolutely hammered in the grading. Got like 6 10s and even a few 7s and 8s. Don't know if they are trying to prove a point that they are difficult graders there but really not happy with the results.

Not sure yet if mine are coming from NJ or not. Wouldn’t mind since I’m on the east coast. Im still in assembly.

Sorry you got hammered. Reading through dozens of posts looks like NJ is not where you want your cards to end up. My assumption was the NJ office handles more collectables. Otherwise why wouldn’t we ship directly there for overflow. I could be wrong.

I’m overall happy with my grades for my first ever sub. Close to what i pre graded to end at. 7 cards (all high end CJ) and 3 gems. I think one of them could have been a gem, will have to look more closely when it get back to me.

gemrate.com shows a lower percentage of tcg graded for the last 7 days, so there may be some sports orders getting handled by graders who haven't been broken down by topps/panini quality control.

I was going to say the same thing. My recent orders have been all tcg and have gone through New Jersey with good rates. I wondered if they've had some tcg folks being used for sports and aren't used to the crappy quality they've gotten to after seeing some of these lower rates.
