The key rookies sure seem to be short printed compared to last year .
It’s a small sample size for me so far but compared to s2 retail last year I was getting a lot more Corbin gunner and Jung

For what it's worth and to add to the admittedly still small sample size, I got zero Elly in 6 blasters; two in 4 hobby and three in 3 jumbo.

Similar to others: I got more than twice as many Henry Davis, Westburg and others folks have mentioned in all three formats (hobby, jumbo, blaster).

My final tally from a Jumbo case plus 1 Jumbo box was 5 sets, some guys had 13 copies. My extras pile is 600+ cards. Could have had 1 more set easily with even decent collation.

I had 1 extra Jasson, 2 Elly, and 2 Carter. Silver Packs backs were ugly.

I find the set extremely refreshing. Could be totally me but I love the design and its nice not chasing shiny cards and autos. The good pulls are tougher than they have ever been before. I am very bullish on this set personally. I ripped a few blasters and got skunked hard, sticking to singles buying now lol. I don't think its the best rip.

I didn’t get a single carter until my first of 2 mega , elly from a hanger and jasson from a blaster

most of the topps releases in a year are pretty forgettable. You basically have flagship and chrome, the few people that like heritage, and then if you like 23 year old dominicans pretending to be 17, you have Bowman. Otherwise you have inception, finest, best, and random high end gambler stuff that no one really cares about.

In a jumbo case break, I had the Reds and ended up with 3 Elly base, one 1989 Elly and the last silver pack had a green /99 Elly. Also got a Nick Senzel team color match. There were quite a few Henry Davis in that break. It was a Yankees case really with several parallels, relics and then SP autos of Rizzo and Volpe. One box had a Frelick auto, gold foil and another parallel in it.

So jumbo and hobby cases will yield 4-5 sets. Yikes. I believe I was able to make 8-11 from previous years (hobby). Don't know about 2023 since I didn't open none. Collation is pretty bad as from a case, you'll get 4 of a card and 12-13 of another.

2 numbered cards, black Schwarber and gold Thomas. 4 rainbow foils and 5 gold foils (forgot one, Cabbage, when I took the photo).
Highlights of the silver packs, Jung and Carroll rookie cups.
34 doubles, seems way too many. Need 31 for a complete set.
The cards as many of you have said are gorgeous. The photography is incredible this year. Topps ought to put credits on the backs of the cards.

This is unfortunate and hopefully not common. Jumbos have traditionally been counted on to yield a complete base set. That's been one of the drivers in my habit of buying one at release, to keep my flagship collection current, and then be done with it if I choose (although I usually end up buying more, from various formats). This year, I went with 2 hobby to start, and ended up with 325/350 and about 70 doubles.

From my 2 hobby boxes: each had a Ronald, but one of them had a dinged corner. I also got one Elly, 1 Dominguez, and 2 Carters.
