It would definitely put Mahomes' peak (if it ends up being his peak) significantly above Brady and anyone else. Would it make up for Brady having significantly more rings? Who knows.

If he 3 peats and ends up with 5 rings, it would put him over Brady in my book from a holistic view of GOAT. If he 3 peats and ends up with 4 rings, he's easily above Montana but the 7 v 4 SB rings is probably still too big of a gap for him to be above Brady.

Why didn't he just beat Brady in SB LV!? Oh right, missing 3 OL.

Nope.

This is turning into Jordan/LeBron part 2.

He can end up with more Super Bowls, yards, tds, playoff stats, better rating, rushing stats, more wins.. everything, and it won't matter. Heck, 18% of the public thinks that Taylor Swift is part of a deep state plot to steal the election. There will always be reasons people come up with to take away what he does...

Just like they did with Brady for 20 years until he retired and his legend grew. It's the Paul Bunyan effect and I told y'all about it years ago when people were downplaying Brady, and here we are.

It's Brady because it's 7 rings vs. 2.

Mahomes 3 peating would mean every year of his first 7 starting years would be AFC championship appearances, 5 SBs, 4 wins.

It would be the greatest start to a career in world sports history.

The listing was for a 2017 Mahomes "Orange" Prizm RC that sold for either $7,000 or $9,200 (two different numbers show up depending on where you click).

Only, the card wasn't orange...it was numbered #3/10. Someone posted a pic of it on their IG stories with a cryptic message that seemed to indicate they had acquired it, so I was waiting on confirmation that that person had actually obtained the card.

Basically, I thought that someone got a 100k card for 7-9k and I just about died. The listing "ended" on 1/28/31 as a BIN. I reached out to the person on IG who ran the story and who indicated they had got the card (a high end buyer). They clarified that they have not made a deal for the card, but they were meeting with the seller in person this week. I asked if the person was aware it was gold and not orange and they said yes, the person does know what they have and were asking 800k lol. They allegedly just pulled it from a pack recently. So maybe someone alerted the seller it was gold and they didn't honor the person who hit the BIN or whatever. I did try to reach out to the seller through ebay and IG just to confirm they actually have the card and to hear the story behind it but have not received a response, and it's been a day so I figured I would post here.

The more important thing for my purposes is that I track these cards, and the only one I had never seen was the #3/10, and now I have photo evidence which means that all 10 Gold Prizm RC cards have been pulled.

There are no more gold Prizm PCs stashed away in boxes.

That is all.

Got a PSA 9 and is up for auction at Goldin. Apparantly the high end 'buyer' is just a high end flipper lol.

I'll be watching it tick down for sure in a couple weeks to see where the market for this is now after the big win.

In Layton's 200 box Super Bowl mixer, their big finale was a hobby box of 2017 Prizm, a box of 2017 Immaculate, and a box of 2017 NT...the results:

0 Mahomes in the Prizm box (McCaffrey and Watson base RC's were the best pulls)

0 Mahomes in the Immaculate box, however, this box pulled off a massive troll job as the big hit at the end of the box was a Kareem Hunt Dual RPA with some of the nicest patches you'll see.

The NT box yielded a Mahomes/Trubuisky dual patch RC card /10 (there was a Brady 1/1 printing plate in it). So the guy holding the Chiefs may lose it in a random to the guy holding the Bears.

Just another reason I will not bust my unopened stash. Risk vs reward is too great.

Pure insanity to me to pay to rip wax when you can just buy your favorite Mahomes cards for not much of an uptick after the huge win.
